I’ve been talking to myself recently about the things I talk to DADDY GOD about. Well, not so much the things I talk to Him about but the way I phrase what I want to talk to Him about. And today I said to myself, or was it The Holy Spirit who said, “You don’t have to beg. He is more than willing and able to do that.” I quickly rephrased my request to a positive anticipation. We should never approach our Father in prayer as if we have to beg Him or ‘twist His Arm’ to get Him to respond to us. We don’t have to cajole Him to give strength to a sister or brother who is hard hit with adverse situations. Would it not build our own faith if we said Father, You know what has happened and I know You have a plan in this and I know You are willing and able to give _______ strength and courage to overcome; thank You for what You are doing for her even now and Holy Spirit thank You that You are empowering her to receive Your help.
And when we are concerned for a lost friend, would it not build our own faith rather than pray as if we have to coax Father to save them but praise Him for what He is doing to draw them to Himself; to praise Him for the mercy and grace He is pouring out upon them; to thank Him for every witness and circumstance that He is using to convince your friend of his or her need of salvation. It is my goal to be positive in my praying; to pray with thanksgiving, to pray Father’s Word back to Him, and to KNOW He will answer. You know that too, don’t you?One more thing: a line from one of the songs we sang this past weekend is a nugget worth holding on to: I have hope today because the Sovereign God of the heavens loves me.
Meditate on that today; get the arms of your heart around it, embrace it, and make it your own.
Philippians 4: 6 Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. 7 And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. 2 Peter 3: 9 The Lord does not delay and is not tardy or slow about what He promises, according to some people’s conception of slowness, but He is long-suffering (extraordinarily patient) toward you, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance.
Father, I know You are watching over each of our IDOKs today and every day. I know You are taking Your Word and empowering it to do that which You have ordained for Your Glory and the good of these listed here. Thank You for the protection You have continually given to our IDOK Troops and we pray for Your Protection again today, mind, body, and spirit. And we thank You that You love them even more than we do. We pray for a successful conclusion to these wars; we pray for the repentance of America; thank You for the mercy and grace You show this nation every day. Thank You for the plans You have for America and thank You for all the encouragement You give us to embrace Your Plans. We continue to obey You in our prayers for the Peace of Israel and to intercede for the Church, that we will be holy and blameless for Your Sake, Lord Jesus. As I post this it is 90°F and with light haze in Kuwait, KW & the time there is 9:01 AM AST – on April 29, 2008
22-24 God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, His merciful love couldn’t have dried up. They’re created new every morning. How great your faithfulness! I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over). He’s all I’ve got left. From The Message Bible – Lamentations 3
Whatever the weekend has held for you, today’s a new day. However, difficult it may be to grasp it, try! Remember — Great is HIS FAITHFULNESS
GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS Verse 1 Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my father! There is no shadow of turning with Thee; Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not: As thou hast been Thou forever wilt be. Chorus: Great is Thy faithfulness, Great is Thy faithfulness, Morning by morning new mercies I see: All I have needed Thy hand hath provided Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me! Verse 2 Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest, Sun, moon and stars in their courses above, Join with all nature in manifold witness To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love. Verse 3 Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth. Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide, Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
Father, I am grateful for Your Faithfulness, without You all of us would be nothing. Thank You for the Extraordinary Women’s Conference, thank You for the helps I heard, help me to meditate upon them until I get from them what You desired in having me be there. Thank You that You are merciful and ever faithful to us all. You know what has gone on this weekend with each of our IDOKs and You know who is hurting this morning and who is rejoicing – help us all alike praise You and remember Your Faithfulness. I know Ms. Alla Mae is grieving this morning and there are arrangements and details to be attended as she prepares to place the physical body of her daughter to rest. You know better than anyone how difficult that is and You better than anyone can comfort her and we are counting on You to comfort her and we are counting on You to send alongside people to aid and love on her in this time. No doubt there are other IDOKs in need of comfort and courage and strength and discernment this morning and healings of various kinds and so we are asking on their behalf that You will attend to them and we know You will because You are Faithfully in love with us. Thank You Father. And we pray for our IDOK Troops too as faithfully as we know how for their protection, not just bodily but their emotions and their spirits too. We pray for a safe return home for each of them and for a successful conclusion to these wars. We are also reminded of the election in November and we pray for Your Will to be done. Forgive us, at times we get weary with the corruption, the sin and the high costs here in America but even then we are grateful to live here and we pray that You will give each of us a vision, a dream and a plan to make this place a better place; help us live out the Peace You give us in our little corner of Your World for Jesus sake. We are never more fulfilled than when our longing for God is met by His Presence in our lives. Billy Graham
Beth (Moore) said something the other day and I have not forgotten it. She said: “If your study of the Word does not cause you to love Him, you do not know Him.” And in my search for the Text that says the same I found other verses. These two feel particularly beautiful right now: Deuteronomy 7: 8 but because the LORD loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. 9 “Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments; And I want you to meditate on these today. I want you to hear them deep in your spirit. The LORD loves you. The LORD has redeemed you. He has brought you out of bondage. The LORD is God The LORD is your God and He is FAITHFUL to you and to your children’s children.
Oh and yes the verse that supports Beth’s statement is I John 4: 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. From time to time I have to ask: Are you sure you are in the FAITH? Do you know that you know that you know that He is your LORD and your God? If you are not sure, read The Word until you are sure! When you LOVE HIM, you will know that you know. Father, I am grateful that You have made me know that I know that I know You are my LORD and my God. And I thank You for each IDOK that knows this most blessed of all truth. Thank You for the redemption and deliverance that ONLY YOU LORD JESUS could buy for us. And thank You HOLY SPIRIT for ONLY YOU can deliver it. There are many things on the minds of IDOKs this day and they are varied things, some to do with illness and disease I think and some with wayward children and maybe even a wayward spouse, and others I think is financial, wondering how to pay this or pay that, and some are concerned about just where that someone will spend eternity and Lord that would seem to me should be our greatest concern but sometimes it is not; forgive us. And in all these things with all these folks our highest and greatest request can only be Father, Your will be done. And added to that we specifically pray for our IDOK Troops as we do daily and daily we desire that they be kept safe from all harm of mind, body or spirit. And daily we desire that they be guided and that they know they are loved and appreciated. And daily we pray for a successful conclusion to this war. And we are so grateful when we hear a positive news report from Baghdad or other of the places we are engaged. And we have this Nation as a whole in our minds often, we are sorry for the evil we see and we at times feel overwhelmed and discouraged at these things and the economy and the injustice that seems to be so rampant and even the price of gasoline, this concerns us and yes we would so like for You to bring us relief. And there’s all the yang yang that is going on with the presidential candidates and yet it seems to be necessary for the exposure for which we have prayed, so Lord, not our will but Your Will be done with this election. And as before Israel’s welfare and Her Peace are our concern. Thank You for the way She teaches us about You and bless Her, Lord. Tonight begins Extraordinary Women Conference in Pensacola and I am personally asking You Holy Spirit to come and deliver to us and deliver us from bondages and help us know that we know that we know You are our LORD and our God, the Faithful One. We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
