Is it me or does that seem impossible? 20 days till Christmas!
The following is “From 31 Family Devotions for Christmas, published by Barbour Publishing, Inc. Used by Permission.”
The holidays are a wonderful time to remember and talk about our journey to faith. It is very important for our children and our families to hear how we came to know Christ and what the gift of God’s Son means to us. Take a moment to have all family members share what God is doing in their lives.
Family Activity: After dinner one evening, share memories of Christmases past. Talk about favorite ornaments on the tree and where they came from. Tell about your favorite Christmas as a child or special traditions you remember. You and your children will enjoy hearing what each family member has considered special or memorable in the past.
A Recipe:
Extraordinary Ohio Buckeyes
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine
1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
2 cups semisweet, milk or white chocolate chips
Toothpicks for dipping
Line cookie sheets with wax paper and set aside. Mix peanut butter and butter until creamy. Add sugar a little at a time. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Roll peanut butter mixture into 1 inch balls. Place on wax paper and freeze for 39 minutes or until firm. In microwave-safe dish, melt chocolate chips in microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir. Repeat until chips are melted. Do not scorch. Insert toothpicks into frozen peanut butter balls and dip balls in chocolate. Let cool on wax paper. Store in cool place. Makes about 100 buckeyes.
Ok all you extraordinary people — enjoy!
Psalm 37
28 For the LORD loves justice,
And does not forsake His saints;
They are preserved forever,
But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off.
The LORD loves justice. Four important words for us to remember when we hear ABBA accused of being unfair, allowing wrong deeds to go on and on; especially if it is our own FLESH that is doing the accusing.
He has not and will NEVER forsake us. Through it all He is with us. Isn’t that what Christmas is all about?
John 1:14 And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us; and we [actually] saw His glory (His honor, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth.
Lord, we want to see Your Glory. We are a needy people and our greatest need is to worship You. Help us cleanse our hearts and our ways so You can trust us with Your Glory this Christmas. You have said Your Word will not return back void but will accomplish what You will. Accomplish, O Lord, accomplish much in us today we pray. And remembering these we call their names to You and we pray Thy will be done ABBA. Unspoken Requests – situations so close you can only speak to Father about. Terry and family. Julia O. Ann C.
