Praise Reports and Prayer Requests
Update on Rudon: Good morning, it has been another wonderful night then i wake up to read i.d.o.k. and am reminded i am not the only one with problems. kathie i asked for prayer for my brother for cancer as the dr. said he had it and his hip and ribs looked like swiss cheese, this past Friday another dr. checked every part of his body leaving only one test to get the results this friday and guess what, no cancer to be found any place. a shocker, no our god is already at work leaving a lot of pain with no explanation, but i will continue to praise god for His mercy and proclaim His healing, love as always , Roye
Update on Doug: got the sad news this morning that Doug’s cancer is back.
Update on Tammi: Just wanted to let you know that Tammi’s surgery is over and went well.  Thanks for your prayers.
Update on LaJuanna: she continues to improve!
In the natural, ABBA, we term this good news and bad news, cancer gone and cancer back. But gratefully, can only understand that it is You, I am comforted that You have not changed, You are still Love, You are still Holy, You are still the Healer and still the Lover of our souls and You in mercy and love are doing for every one of this listed above and below what is needful.  Thank You for Tammi’s coming recovery and thank You for Rudon’s gift of healing and thank You for the coming gifts to Doug and Claudia and the family.  Thank You for LaJuanna’s recovery too.  Thank You for the day stretching out before us and I pray we will stretch up with open arms to receive You love and embrace; I pray we will bless You and love You back today in worship and obedience.  Thank You for the peace of knowing we have been saved from eternal damnation and You are now saving us from a life of mediocrity.  Looking over the list two more come to mind, particularly, that I will mention here, Art and Sula, You know the need there and I thank You that You are right there to meet it.   I pray too for our IDOK Troops for their safety and well being today and for safe returns home at the appropriate time.  I pray too for the situation in Afghanistan, what is needed, what can be done, what we should do and I pray it will be done quickly.  I pray for Israel, for peace, for protection and for America to arise has a faithful ally.   ABBA, thank You for Your mercy we experience every moment, thank You for Your Plans for each of us and thank You that You are teaching us to walk in it for Jesus Name sake.  Amen and amen.

Dummies

IDOK DEVOTION FOR TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2009

I think I can prove to you from Scripture that any one who does not reverence, listen to and obey God is a dummy.  From my online dictionary a dummy is a person who says or does nothing.
Psalm 115
1 Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us,
         But to Your name give glory,
         Because of Your mercy,
         Because of Your truth.
 2 Why should the Gentiles say,
         “So where is their God?”
3 But our God is in heaven;
         He does whatever He pleases.
 4 Their idols are silver and gold,
         The work of men’s hands.
 5 They have mouths, but they do not speak;
         Eyes they have, but they do not see;
 6 They have ears, but they do not hear;
         Noses they have, but they do not smell;
 7 They have hands, but they do not handle;
         Feet they have, but they do not walk;
         Nor do they mutter through their throat.
 8 Those who make them are like them;
         So is everyone who trusts in them.
There you have it: the idol and those who give themselves to idols – dummies.  Obviously, ABBA, can say that … not sure we should though.  I’m just having a little fun … please take it that way; moving on now.
Lets do some personalizing to a couple verses of Psalm 115 and keep them close in heart all day today.
9 O Israel, trust in the LORD;
         He is their help and their shield.
O Church, trust in the LORD;
He is your help and your shield.
 10 O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD;
         He is their help and their shield.
O IDOKs, trust in the LORD;
He is your help and your shield.
He is our help and our shield today.  He will help us with every care and every need we have today and He will shield us from anything He has not already equipped us to handle.  And if we fail to rely on this WORD today … well, dare I say we are acting like ‘dummies’?

Praise Reports and Prayer Requests
Remember Tammi.  She is having surgery (Tuesday).  I have decided it is only routine if it is happening to somebody other than your baby.  Carolyn.
Leah Ann Overstreet and family.  Leah Ann is Principal at Delta Elementary in Baldwin County.  I am not sure that I yet have all the correct details. This is what I have as of 11:30 AM on Monday: 11:30AM – the pulmonary Dr. said that in his professional opinion, Leah Ann is not going to recover from this – her lungs have taken an extremely bad hit – this Swine Flu is not a joke – he is ordering a EEG today to determine brain activity – he does not think there is any.
Thank You for fun and I pray for the gift of holy humor and delight for our IDOKs today.  I pray for protection, for safe keeping and every provision for each of them.  ABBA, You have blessed so much and as I think about it the email address list has grown a lot in 6 years and each address represents a precious sister or brother, rest Your Favor and Grace upon each one of them today and their families and every concern of their individual hearts.  And in particular, Tammi, cause her surgery and recovery to be textbook perfect and Lord Jesus just kinda hang out there in the hospital with Carolyn as she waits; I know You are always with her; but You know what I mean, be so close that she can ‘feel’ You there.  And I am certain there are others on our list who would like that too.  And Betty, her mom and grandma in particular, are weary; they would like to know for sure what it is that is not right in Betty, just what it is that is not functioning as is normal for precious 6 year old girl.  Please lead them to this malfunction and a cure I pray.  And ABBA, again today please protect our IDOK Troops; keep them safe from all harm, spiritual, physical and emotional, and bring them home at the appointed time, safe and sound to their families.  Again I pray for America, that You will have mercy on us; please humble Your people and heal this Nation, I pray.  And I pray for Israel for peace and safety for them as a Nation and individually.  Amen and amen in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
ABBA, I guess we could call this a PS prayer and yet I don’t know what to pray and I don’t know the present condition of Leah Ann, I don’t know if she is still here or if she has come to You.  Either way there’s great need of Your comfort and help for the Overstreet family and we bring them to You and we pray not our will but Your will be done. Amen and amen.

IDOK DEVOTION FOR MONDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2009

Every One

Truthfully, I am so fresh from sleep I have not done any reading this morning so let me quickly share a verse from one of yesterday’s Psalms.

Psalm 128:1 Blessed is every one who fears the LORD, who walks in His ways.

That’s our thought for today. Notice is says EVERY ONE, that is every one who fears (stands in Awe of) the LORD AND who walks (habitually lives in obedience) in His ways. If you and I are doing that today, we have it on the WORD of the LORD we are BLESSED! So look for, be open to and pray to recognize His Blessings being lavished upon you today.

Praise Reports and Prayer Requests

I saw an EENT doctor this morning (Saturday) and he gave me an antibiotic prescription. He said my ear is not swollen deep inside, just on the outside. I will be seeing a special EENT doctor Monday morning and my internist Monday afternoon. In the meantime I am resting and taking my meds. The Shingles continues to spread and I have bumps all the way up to my left temple and even one on my left eyelid. Thank you so much for praying for me. La Juanna

Thank You for a blessed weekend, for the love of family and the beauty of Your Creation, for grand-babies that are growing and learning; thank You for blessing us, Every One of us, and we pray for eyes to see and hearts to receive every blessing You have for every one of us today. We pray for LaJuanna for comfort and recovery. Thank You for the blessings You are pouring upon her today. We pray too for all these here on our list, for blessings for them, blessings of comfort and peace and healing. We pray for protection and safety for our IDOK Troops and we pray for the Peace and Safety of Israel and the repentance of America. We again pray for Obama and his administration. You know I have no respect for him but that means I think all the more I must pray for him that You will have mercy and convict and convince him of his state before You. And not just Obama but Pelosi and Reid and so many others, many, many others we see and hear about that flaunt their ungodliness as a good thing, Holy Spirit, please pour out conviction, pour our mercy to repent upon them I pray and be gracious to we, Your Church too, bless us with conviction and quickly wash our feet so we may stay on Your Path and this I pray in the Mighty and Holy Name of Jesus. Amen and amen.
