2 When pride comes, disgrace follows, but with humility comes wisdom. via Proverbs 11 HCSB;CJB – Dishonest scales are detestable to the – Bible Gateway.

My first Scripture of this day.

When pride comes, disgrace follows.

When I give heed to pride; when I think in pride I am sure to act in pride and when I act in pride, disgrace is sure to follow. Dishonor, even. Dishonor to the Name of JESUS and dishonor to the Body of Christ – to the name of Christian. That is the last thing this society needs. We don’t need to give this world any more ‘ammunition’ to hurl at us; they have plenty.

Disgrace is beneath us, my Friends. Let us shun it with all the strength we have; we can only accomplish this in humility – humble living. Humility is not putting ourselves down, it’s lifting JESUS up.   And it’s the WISE thing to do!

Here’s a link for Proverbs 11 if you would like to read it in its entirety.

Wise living on this 17th day of 2014,

  1. So true – pride is so easy to fall into, but with His help we can seek to avoid it, and the consequences of it. “Humility is.. lifting Jesus u” – Amen to that!
