36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were harried and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
via Matthew 9 KJV;CJB – And he entered into a ship, and passed – Bible Gateway.
The verse speaks of Yeshua.
Crowds.
Many people.
And there still are.
He had compassion on them. On us. Why?
Because they were harried and helpless. So are we.
Harried. troubled persistently especially with petty annoyances via harried – definition of harried by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.
Does that sound about right? persistently surrounded by petty annoyances.
And Helpless.
Unable to help oneself; powerless or incompetent. via helpless – definition of helpless by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.
Yep! That’s us. Powerless and incompetent to save ourselves!
So Jesus had compassion on us! And because of Him we are no longer helpless. He is our help. And we are no longer harried – well, we are still working on that one :) with The Shepherd’s Tending!
Grateful on this 27th day of 2014 for The Shepherd’s Tending – no longer helpless and learning to be less harried!!
