I Reckon

I reckon.

That’s what I heard Charles say. Charles Billingsley. I was watching/listening to a You Tube. Charles was in concert at a church in Macon, Georgia. And right about 30 minutes in he was encouraging the congregation and he said reckon. And I was off!

Reckon. (Click here for Webster’s definition)

Some would say that’s a pretty southern word. It’s a godly word too. The Scripture passage I was thinking of was Romans 8:18. There Paul utilized it as an accounting term. Reckon. Count it. Count it as so. By the way in the KJV you will find Reckon 33 times. Here’s a link in case you want to check it out. HERE

Romans 8: 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. [source]

And so we count and if we count it so, I reckon that reckoning will change how we live. And I reckon, I need to do some reckoning.

I reckon. Seriously smiling here. 🙂

Now. One more thing and I’ll press publish.

That Charles Billingsley you tube? You got an hour and 28 minutes?  I reckon it’s worth every minute I’ve invested. Perhaps you will too.

And a bit (translation: a few minutes) before the I reckon, he sings a song, and a certain portion of the lyrics is this: You wrapped my soul inside Your Arms.  I don’t know about you but upon hearing those words I was wrapped in love this morning; and not just me but I saw in those words my Girls wrapped in His Arms too. Don’t you reckon some worship was going on? 🙂

I reckon I better close this epistle. 🙂

Being Me – Blogging?

The Loft. I’m late getting here. I am often late for many things and places. Oh well. Better late than never. Right?

Why do I blog?

There was a time I blogged much more than now. See my earlier post about blogging.

I still want to influence for good. My most fulfilling pleasure is still sharing THE WORD with others. And I do. Albeit, not as much here as in an earlier season of being me. The desire to get back to it is still present but alas the dedication continues lacking. But I’m here today. 🙂  And yet shortly I will be off and running – oh that needs to be literally but that may not happen either. You see my beloved hubby is retired! Six Saturdays week! We love it and we have been spending them fast and furiously – here and there, mostly with family and sometimes we get to squeeze in some friends. Truthfully, I don’t know what’s ahead for us, for me with blogging or etc. but it will be good cause DADDY GOD is good!

13 Here is the final conclusion, now that you have heard everything: fear God, and keep his mitzvot; this is what being human is all about. [source]

Well, time to get moving. We are forging 🙂 for oranges today. USA oranges. Not so easy to find these days here in Lower Alabama.

Come Away

War Room. The Movie. And in my opinion a movie to be seen! Again and again.

I tear up every time I even watch the trailer. I know DADDY GOD is speaking here.

Individual War Rooms. Again in my opinion every Christian, every obedient Christian has one. Perhaps not in a physical closet but every obedient Christian withdraws to an alone place with GOD daily, often moment by moment.  Some come away to back porches, decks, walking trails, cars, (trucks and minivans too), kitchen sinks; any physical place where a soul can be still and quiet before GOD.

However, after the movie War Room I am pondering a specific set aside physical place is more necessary that I had previously allowed myself to believe. Generally Christians have a specific, sanctified place to gather to worship once, twice, even three times a week. It’s called ‘church’. And generally not a whole lot else goes on in these places – just a gathering of people together to sing, praise, pray and hear the preaching of the Bible.

I have a makeshift office. It’s in the GRAND GIRLS bedroom. And I spend time there with the LORD. I prayer journal. I write – such as this very piece I am typing right now. I read. I study for Sunday School. But because this room houses all this activity it often gets WAY cluttered and when it does, I’m just being honest here, it frustrates me and not much praying gets done until the clutter is reigned in. Since the movie I see the need to have a place dedicated to wage war in prayer. A place to where I can immediately retreat, no clutter to clear first, no distractions. I want that. I am weak. I NEED it. Not sure where or how long it will take to achieve it – I’m praying about it.   🙂

31 There were so many people coming and going that they couldn’t even take time to eat, so he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a place where we can be alone, and you can get some rest.”   [source]

Oh what beautiful words! Oh what a blessed thought! Yeshua HaMashiach, JESUS  take me away!

Thank you for visiting with me today. May the LORD bless you and keep you . . .

Lines Drawn

I Corinthians 13.  The LOVE chapter.  Perhaps a portion of Scripture read more often than many others. Perhaps even a passage used to promulgate unholy tolerance. Tonight I am here to differ. Tucked right there in those 13 verses in chapter 13 of I Corinthians are these words.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. [source]

One caveat. The application I make here is only ONE that can be gleaned from this chapter. There are many more. That being said.

Love. Real Love. God’s kind of love does not delight, celebrate, condone, or any other descriptive word man can come up with to shame Christians into embracing what GOD has rejected. Love does not celebrate and does not participate in what GOD has condemned. What does love do? Love rejoices with the truth. Love tells the truth. Love pleads with words and in deeds with every willing soul to come to the Truth. The Truth of I Corinthians 13 and every chapter before it and every chapter following it.

I admit it’s not an easy path. Lines get drawn in the sand and we are pushed and pummeled with hateful words by those who are yet to believe, but in CHRIST JESUS and by HIS SPIRIT we will learn to walk in Love and in Truth even up hostile avenues.

So let us take I Corinthians 13 and the Whole of Scripture and boldly embrace it, confident that there is not one Word in GOD’s WORD that gives us permission to call evil good and good evil. EVER.

One more verse. It is my prayer that we learn to live it. I think it is imperative for these days and I am certain that the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD will teach us if we will follow Him closely.

16 Behold, I am sending you out like sheep in the midst of wolves; be wary and wise as serpents, and be innocent (harmless, guileless, and without falsity) as doves. Matthew 10 [source]

ABBA, thank You for allowing us the privilege of living in these hostile days; help us to honor You; help us to learn Your Ways, to be wise and harmless as we act and interact with the Peoples of this world. And, ABBA, help us fearlessly share Your Gospel with every willing soul You bring into our spheres of influence and those that we meet who are not yet willing, help us love them enough to do them no harm, and help us to always know the difference. And this we ask in and for the Mighty Name of JESUS, Yeshua HaMashiach.

Thank you for visiting with me today. Blessings be yours. Until Next Time ~ ~ ~ Kathie
