To Give Permission

John 14

1 “Don’t let yourselves be disturbed. Trust in God and trust in me.

Don’t let yourselves be disturbed He said. The New King James Version uses the word troubled.  Either way, disturbed or troubled. It’s a choice.
Why would I say that? It’s a choice?
Do you see that little word let?

What does it mean this word let? Glad you asked.

To give permission or opportunity to; allow

For my soul to be disturbed or troubled I have to give myself permission to be so.
In this crazy, hostile, evil, depraved, crazy – oh, I said that – world, how can I not be disturbed and troubled? The permission seems to come automatically. Yes. I agree. It does seem that way, but we can learn better. We really can!

JESUS answered this dilemma for us.

TRUST

Trust Him.
Trust that what He says is true.
Trust that He is who He says He is.
Trust that He loves you.
Trust that He is always good.
Trust that He always has your best interest at His heart.
TRUST.

When we trust, our disturbed, troubled, anxious, frustrated, aggravated,  ____________, souls will calm.

Does it take practice?
Yeah. Lots of it!

There’s so much more. I hope you will read John 14 for yourself. All of it.
Because if you do you will find for ALL those who TRUST JESUS, Heaven is for sure.
It’s a REAL place for REAL people.
You don’t want to miss it.

HERE’S A POST I WROTE IN 2017, PERHAPS YOU WOULD LIKE TO READ IT TOO.
