Kathy

Jerry met Joe the last weekend of February this year at Bernie Carbo’s Fantasy Baseball camp. Joe loves JESUS, Jerry loves JESUS, so they were instant friends. And this week Jerry checked in with Joe via email and Joe shared a miracle — and Joe is delighted for me to share this miracle with you all.

Her name is Kathy. She’s Joe’s wife. May 1st 2011 was her 54th birthday and what a celebration it was! Here is the account of their miracle.

My wife has brain cancer, and was given just 24 hours to live last week…  But, after the doctors had given us their ‘palliative’ counsel, paid their last respects, and cut off all her treatments and medications, a funny thing happened…  God decided that Kathy wasn’t through yet with the work He has her doing on this earth…  Within 24 hours of the ‘talk’, Kathy rallied, and regained consciousness, (not to mention her hearing and sight), and also recovered the use of her limbs…

Instead of being wheeled out of the hospital in a hearse, she rolled out in a chair, yesterday (May 1, 2011), and is now home recovering, and preparing for the next part of this adventure that God has laid out before us…

The doctors can’t explain it, and some people can’t believe it, but my wife and family and friends, brothers, and sisters all know what happened…  God, through His Son Jesus, has performed a miracle…!

(P.S.       yesterday was my wife’s 54th birthday…).

Blessings,
Joe Baughman

What a Prayer!

The Passage we are about to read comes after Peter and John had spent the night in jail and the next morning the Rules and Elders (Religious Folks) examined them and in the end charged them to shut up about JESUS. Upon their release they gathered with their companions of Faith and reported to them what the Chief Priests and the elders had said.

Acts 4: (New American Standard Bible)
24 And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God with one accord and said, “O Lord, it is You who MADE THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH AND THE SEA, AND ALL THAT IS IN THEM,
25 who by the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David Your servant, said,
‘WHY DID THE GENTILES RAGE, AND THE PEOPLES DEVISE FUTILE THINGS?
26’THE KINGS OF THE EARTH TOOK THEIR STAND, AND THE RULERS WERE GATHERED TOGETHER AGAINST THE LORD AND AGAINST HIS CHRIST.’
27 “For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,
28 to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose predestined to occur.
29 “And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that Your bond-servants may speak Your word with all confidence,
30 while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy servant Jesus.”
via Acts 4:24-30 – Passage Lookup – New American Standard Bible – BibleGateway.com.

And the result of that prayer?

Acts 4: (New American Standard Bible)
31 And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.

Verses 32 – 34 goes on to say of them that they were
Of one heart and soul
The apostles were with great power giving testimony to the resurrection of THE LORD JESUS
And there was not a needy person among them.

Sounds Radical. Sounds like what is missing today.

ABBA, help us repent in JESUS Name.

HIS,
Kathie

With, On, and By

It’s a pretty Monday as I sit to prepare something for our Tuesday time together. And on this pretty Monday I’ve begun to look forward to Sunday when I again, LORD willing, get to lead another Sunday School/Bible Study Class. Our prescribed Text is Colossians 1:21-2:7. It will be good!

Verse 22 in the NASB version has a word that I am looking at with you.

Colossians 1: (New American Standard Bible)
22 yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach–

Reconciled.

At first blush we would say reconciled means to bring into agreement. Like reconciling our check book with the Bank’s records – we want them to ‘agree’. And when there is agreement, there’s an understanding. I know how much I have to spend, the Bank knows how much and we are both held to that amount

Think about that enough, applying it to your relationship with ABBA and you’ll get way excited!

Moving on —  the definition of reconciled is even broader. Like this:

rec·on·cile (rkn-sl)
2. To become compatible . . . .
via reconciled – definition of reconciled by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia..

JESUS came to earth to make man compatible again with the Creator. He is still doing this.

When we believe, when we trust, when we receive the Gift of Eternal Life given only by JESUS CHRIST, we become compatible with GOD.

What happens when two are compatible? As Southerns say: they get along together. They enjoy each others company.

Are you enjoying GOD’s Company today? Are you and He getting along today?

If not you need to find out why.

There can only be one reason for you and me to not enjoy DADDY GOD’s company — SIN!

And what’s right in the middle of sin?

I

When Believers who have received JESUS within are not enjoying His company, the problem is I. Their focus is I. Their will is all about I. What I want. What I will do. What I won’t do. What’s been done to ME (I). What’s not been done for ME (I). And it’s a miserable way to live.  Isn’t it?

So don’t do it.

Some other words in the verse are holy, blameless and beyond reproach.

Now that’s living!

So lets live today. In JESUS Name lets live!

Numbers 6: (New American Standard Bible)
24 The LORD bless you, and keep you;
25 The LORD make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you;
26 The LORD lift up His countenance on you, And give you peace.’

I hope you are continuing to pray for all those on our Praying for These list. Our Ministry begins with, hinges on, and continues only by prayer.  — In His Name, Kathie

ABBA, my prayer desire continues to be that You will heal Kerri; that You will stabilize and bring to normal her calcium levels; that You will give her a new lease on life here to love and care for her son and family. And my desires continue to be that You will bring Jenny to a full recovery; that You will heal Sandi Leon; that Cindy will see you faithful to her as she grieves – that each day she will more and more focus on what’s next with You. And our IDOK Troops, always remembering them, praying for safety and protection. And other matters too, You know. And, thank You for the gift of faith that keeps on trusting You. Thank You for hope that keeps on smiling up at You when life is hard. Thank You that we know You are good always. Amen and amen in JESUS NAME and only in His name we pray.

A Musical Hello

Good Monday morning, my Friends.

Someone dear and precious to me often says, “Life is hard, but God is good.”

Life was hard this weekend for many but GOD is still good.  And the more we remember, the more we speak it out to ourselves and others the better for us, the better for others.

GOD IS GOOD especially when life is hard!

Even if Country music is not your favorite flavor, this song will help today.

What a Friend we have in JESUS.  Nothing is truer!

Love and Peace,
Kathie
