Pick Me, Pick Me!

Day 34
332 days remaining after today.

Prayer is occupying my thoughts this week. And so as I was looking for a post from years ago to bring to you again, this one from February 12, 2009 said pick me, pick me. So I did.

IDOK DEVOTION FOR THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2009

I want you to know even before coming to the screen this morning I have prayed for you. But more importantly I want to remind you that JESUS is praying for you today. I want you to know that He forever lives and breathes to make intercession for you. I want you to know that at any juncture in this day if you find you need help but you just cannot form the words to ask, you can simply breathe the words, ‘Jesus, pray for me.’ And He will! And the help you need will be immediately on its way to you and will arrive in perfect time.

Hebrews 7: 24 But He holds His priesthood unchangeably, because He lives on forever.

25 Therefore He is able also to save to the uttermost (completely, perfectly, finally, and for all time and eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He is always living to make petition to God and intercede with Him and intervene for them.

26 [Here is] the High Priest [perfectly adapted] to our needs, as was fitting–holy, blameless, unstained by sin, separated from sinners, and exalted higher than the heavens. [source]

And these words from John 17 when Jesus said:

9 I am praying for them. I am not praying (requesting) for the world, but for those You have given Me, for they belong to You.

15 I do not ask that You will take them out of the world, but that You will keep and protect them from the evil one.

16 They are not of the world (worldly, belonging to the world), [just] as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them [purify, consecrate, separate them for Yourself, make them holy] by the Truth; Your Word is Truth.

18 Just as You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. [source]

And today as we ‘walk in this world’ we are on mission, we have His Word – THE TRUTH, and our God WILL NOT FAIL US!

Be encouraged my dear ones.

Psalm 145:17 The Lord is [rigidly] righteous in all His ways and gracious and merciful in all His works.

18 The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him sincerely and in truth. [source]

Father God, thank You. LORD Jesus thank You that You forever intercede for us. Thank You for the memory of that day sitting on that couch when I could not help myself, I cried out to You, Jesus Pray for me and immediately You helped me. Thank You. I pray now that this TRUTH will settle upon and be rooted in the hearts of every IDOK, every reader today. Thank You that You have heard our prayers and are answering each of them. We pray for our IDOK Troops for continued protection for them, continued wooing of their hearts to be faithful to You in hostile lands. We pray for others. You know their needs even better than we. You know what each of them really needs today. And we know You are willing so LORD Thy will be done we pray. Holy Spirit, encourage each IDOK to pray and intercede today as will bring Glory to Father and will build up the Body of Christ. Protect Israel and bring conviction and repentance to the people of America. Comfort and give strength to every soul proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ in every place upon this planet. Amen and amen.

ABBA, It’s been 7 years and You have been faithful, forever faithful; we are grateful. Again and again we have breathed faint prayers and You have heard and You have answered. You have healed and You have sustained through illnesses; You have supplied every need and many, many of our wants. Your goodness is too high above for us to comprehend but we accept and we love You. And so today we thank You and we trust You and we receive fresh again today Your tender mercies and every provision we need today to live holy lives, loving You and doing good for others in YESHUA’s lovely name. Amen and amen.

Betrothed, Still!

Day 33
333 remaining after today.

This is a post that has been around for a few years. As best I can tell this was initially written in 2003. That is a few years before I began blogging. After the blog, I re-posted it  in 2008. Well how about one more time in 2016?

IDOK DEVOTION FOR THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2008
December 29, 2003

OH, MY!!! It is so good to be back with you!! And I have so many avenues of thought this morning. Something about choices and we are the filters people see God through but the avenue that most thrills me is found in Hosea 2:19 and 20:
And I will betroth you to ME forever; yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and justice, in steadfast love, and in mercy. I will even betroth you to ME in stability and in faithfulness, and you shall know (recognize, be acquainted with, appreciate, give heed to, and cherish) the Lord. [source]

I do not have words to tell you (I know you can’t believe that …) how much this passage of My Father’s Word means to me this morning. I am betrothed to HIM FOREVER! Even when I make poor choices and even when the filter that I am gets fogged up I AM STILL BETROTHED TO HIM… He still loves me. I am still His and He is still Mine!! Hallelujah!! And I can come boldly into His presence (and humbly, thanking Him from the bottom of my heart) anytime…. Especially when I have made a poor choice or me-the filter is fogged up. OH, How AWESOME HE IS! Okay, so what am I talking about this filter business? The thought came to me earlier this morning as I was preparing to come to the computer that we, Father’s daughters (and sons), are the “filters” through whom the world’s people see God. One of the ways they read Him, see His character, become interested in Him is through us… We filter their perception of Him. Is that sobering, staggering or what? What the people around us think of God is influenced by what they see in us. Now do you see why I am so thrilled with Hosea this morning? Cause when we have made poor choices and those poor choices have fogged and dirtied up the filter… WE ARE STILL BETROTHED TO HIM AND HE TO US!! He does not discarded us even then!! WHAT A PICTURE THAT GIVES TO THE WORLD!! When He says that He is betrothed to us HE MEANS it!! And how is He betrothed to us? — in righteousness and justice. He has given us His righteousness and He is perfectly Just in doing so because JESUS PAID IT ALL!! He has given Himself to us in steadfast love, and in mercy. Do you see that Steadfast Love … His love for us will not fail… No matter what – He has given Himself to us in steadfast love and how did He do that — in mercy. It is BY HIS MERCY THAT HE HAS SAVED US! And it gets better and better. He is betrothed to us in stability and in faithfulness. In this world when stability and faithfulness is such a rare commodity, Our God, Our Father, Our Betrothed is STABLE and FAITHFUL to us!! And on top of all that as we walk with Him as we see His righteousness and justice, His steadfast love, His mercy, His stability and in faithfulness, we shall know (recognize, be acquainted with, appreciate, give heed to, and cherish) the Lord. Just look at that! WE SHALL recognize Him, be acquainted with Him, appreciate Him, give heed to him and CHERISH Him.!!! Now that will affect our choices — won’t it? And keep us as clean filters too!! Ask me if I am tickled this morning?!!! One more thing as I was thinking of these avenues: choices and filters and then read the Scripture I had no idea it would all tie together. I thought choices and filters would just have to wait. IS HE GOOD OR WHAT?!!!

Father God how can I ever say thank You to You!! Thank You for Your Word that bathes our souls with healing and refreshment and every thing else we need to live and breathe. Thank You. And Lord, thank You to be back here with my email family. Thank You for ministry; without You, life would be nothing and ministry, what a gift! Thank You. So Father this morning as I think of my email family and my natural family, my daughters, my “sons”, my grandchildren, my mom, my brothers, and on and on, I ask You this morning to draw them to Yourself; to shower lavishly upon them Yourself; so they will KNOW they are betrothed to You and You are FOREVER and it is a FOREVER relationship. And we are safe with You FOREVER. Thank You. And Lord, because of Who You are in us, help us make wise and good and holy choices today and when we do that we will be good filters for people to see You through and that is what we really want for people to see You and become betrothed to You too for Jesus sake. Amen and amen.
And Father, more than four years later I again say AMEN this request. And now because of Your Grace and Mercy we have many more souls over which to pray and we are grateful; we bring them now individually and pray for Your Will to be accomplished in each soul for Jesus Sake. We pray for our IDOK Troops, for their protection of mind, body and spirit; for wisdom and discernment as they perform their duties today and we ask You to bring each of them home safe and sound at the appointed time. We continue to pray for Israel, for Her peace; and we pray for Repentance for America; for the election of Your Choice for President and for revival in Your Church for Jesus sake.
. . .

And ABBA, again more years have passed and changes have come again and You have been faithful. People we love have slipped from here to be there with You; we are grateful for the time we had them here; we are grateful they are with You; we are grateful we will join You and them at the appointed time. And until then, ABBA, it is our request and our desire to be faithful; to be holy filters that demonstrate Your grace, Your truth, Your mercy, Your love and Good News that You desire ALL Peoples to be saved in YESHUA’s mighty name.

Linking up with Grace & Truth

Fridays, as the LORD allows, will be link-up day for me with a new to me Network of Christian Bloggers at

Grace & Truth : A Weekly Christian Link Up

I hope you will enjoy coming along with me as we visit with them. To kick off my participation I have gone way back into my blogging history to re-post one of my own that I have not read for a long time but I liked it this morning. Hope you enjoy!

3:05 A.M.

Be Prepared. When you ask Father a question, He WILL answer you!!
And that question can be something technical, even a concept about website building that you do not understand; something that try as hard as you may you just cannot figure it out.
He may not answer you though when you are sitting at the computer. It may be long after you have closed out the screen, powered-down, and shut off the light.
It may be the morning after you have been sleeping soundly but for some reason you are awake a couple of hours before the alarm, you get up, stumble into the bathroom, and boom… all of a sudden it is perfectly clear!
He has answered you! But it’s too early to go test it. So you go back to bed, go back to sleep – smiling!

Yes, when you ask Father a question – He WILL answer you! He may not answer you when you think He should and it may not be in the place you thought He would… certainly not at 3:05 a.m. in the bathroom when your discussion with Him was at the office, two days before.
No, that would not be my ideal time or place! But you know what? HE ANSWERED!
So who am I to argue with Him?! And yes I have tested it and it worked beautifully!

So, give Him time to get you to the place where you can receive His answer to your question.
There is no doubt; He knew the answer to my question from eternity past. Yes, long before computers and website-building programs were given to the mind of men, Father knew all about them, all the answers to all the questions to ever be asked. Why would He wait until 3:05 a.m. to answer me?
I don’t know and that one He may not answer until eternity future – no matter. He is my Father and my God and He LOVES ME!

So! Have you asked Him a question He has not answered yet?
He will… just as soon as He gets you to your 3:05 a.m.
Remember… He is YOUR Father and YOUR God and HE LOVES YOU!

Psalm 143: 1 Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness. (KJV) [source]

Whatever the question – whatever the prayer – whatever the circumstance, remember:

Psalm 69: 12 They who sit in [the city’s] gate talk about me, and I am the song of the drunkards.   13 But as for me, my prayer is to You, O Lord. At an acceptable and opportune time, O God, in the multitude of Your mercy and the abundance of Your loving-kindness hear me, and in the truth and faithfulness of Your salvation answer me.  14 Rescue me out of the mire, and let me not sink; let me be delivered from those who hate me and from out of the deep waters. (Amplified Bible) [source]
