A week ago, while reading Deuteronomy, I said to Father, I should like to learn to worship You as You desire.
Yes, that is just the way I wrote it — sometimes I like to turn a phrase differently. 😊

Would you expect to find in Deuteronomy a way we today can worship the LORD?
And why do I bring this up here when our verses today are found in Philippians? Bear with me, and I think you shall see.

10 and now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land which you, O Lord, have given me.’ “Then you shall set it before the Lord your God, and worship before the Lord your God. 

There’s our word: worship. Now moving on to verse 11.  

11 So you shall rejoice in every good thing which the Lord your God has given to you and your house, you and the Levite and the stranger who is among you. Link to Source

There’s today’s word: rejoice.
Rejoicing for every good thing the LORD brings our way is worship!
And may I add, rejoicing that He is with us when bitter things come our way is worship too!

I hope this is helpful to you today. It’s been a blessing for me to muse on since last week!

The Land of Egypt

It is a sentence taken out of context, but it is important.

Deuteronomy 16:3, a portion of it. (Source – see link)

. . . remember the day in which you came out of the land of Egypt all the days of your life.

Yes, it was spoken to Israel; it was written for us.

Remember that day you met YESHUA, that day He led you out of bondage, that day He took your sins and gave you His Righteousness, that day He released you from the kingdom of Satan and placed you in His Kingdom? Yes, that day. Don’t forget it! All the days of your life, don’t forget it! Because if you do, if I do, we will wander back into unbelief.

We don’t want that!

Cute Socks

This one is special.
In a particularly scary time, my Baby Girl wrote this verse of Scripture, placed it in her sock, and every place she went, this promise was with her.
That reminds me of another passage of Scripture, Deuteronomy 6.

6These words I am commanding you today are to be upon your hearts. 
7And you shall teach them diligently to your children and speak of them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 
8Tie them as reminders on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 
9Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates.

Just my observation, but I don’t think we have walked out Deuteronomy 6 well with today’s children, do you?

In summary, keep the Word of GOD always within reach, always before our faces, always at hand, always ready to teach our children. Wherever we are at home, traveling to and from school, the grocery store, on our way anywhere and everywhere, be ready with Scripture for every conversation and every observation that lends itself to a teachable moment. 

Tall order? Absolutely!
But GOD is able to teach us, and He is able to enable us!
