Twelve

49 And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” 50 But they did not understand the statement which He spoke to them.
51 Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them, but His mother kept all these things in her heart. 52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men. Luke 2 NKJV

Today’s Text selection occurred when Yeshua was 12 years of age. He had been living in Nazareth with his mother and Joseph (such a special man, but that’s for another time), making yearly trips to Jerusalem, and on this trip, He stayed behind in the temple. Mary and Joseph had gone a day’s journey from Jerusalem when they realized he wasn’t in the caravan with some of the other travelers.
I can easily imagine the angst and panic when they realized Yeshua was missing – three days of panic! But then they found Him!

Twelve.
He was 12 when this happened. By this time, He had read the Scriptures and knew the Scriptures better than the Scribes. At 12! But what did He do when Mary and Joseph found Him in the temple?
He went with them back to Nazareth for the next 18 years. For 18 years He waited. He waited for The Father’s timing to begin His three-year public Ministry.

There is so much to this GOD being a Man! All those years, 18 of them, were not wasted, my Friends. During those years, Yeshua walked, ate, worked, slept, talked, laughed, loved His mother, Joseph, His brothers and sisters – all the while living a perfect, holy life, guided, empowered, and protected by HOLY SPIRIT. In a nutshell, He lived the life you and I have not lived! He lived it for us!

So, the next time you think waiting is hard and unfair — think of Yeshua. He knows! And He knows how to get you through it.
16 For surely it is not the angels He helps, but the descendants of Abraham. 17 For this reason He had to be made like His brothers in every way, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, in order to make atonementh for the sins of the people. 18 Because He Himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted. Hebrews 2 BSB

Did you read that?!

If we walk in the light, if we have fellowship with Yeshua, His Blood cleanses us from ALL sin! Not some, but ALL! ALL SIN!
And on the heels of that thought, comes this: Blood! He died! He suffered untold atrocities and agony, so we could be flippant about our sins?!
Absolutely not! A zillion times a zillion, not!!

I wonder if you have experienced the same as I have — participating in a ‘Christian’ setting, a life group, a Sunday School class, etc., and there’s talk about ‘small’ sins.
You know, the kind where someone gets your food order mixed up, and you are delayed or, worse yet, charged too much money for less food than you ordered, and what happens?
Flesh has a fit!
Choice words are spoken, and clear, convincing body language carries all the way out the door.

_{( Ephesians 4: ³²And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.)}

And we, hearing this sitting in the discussion room, give out a low chuckle. You know what I mean; I am sure you do.
In Christian settings, we often snicker at such slight indiscretions.

We all know we shouldn’t behave this way. Moreover, I am convinced we should be exercised by the mention of these and cease and desist from these behaviors.
Have we deceived ourselves into thinking these behaviors are not sin?
Do we only acknowledge the big sins (especially the below-the-belt ones) as real sin?
I’m just making an observation from the Scriptures and life happening around me, in hopes it will encourage us all to remember the BLOOD of YESHUA – the infinite price He paid for us.

That being said. . . Let us rejoice if we have been cleansed from ALL our sins, and because we have been cleansed, let’s be inspired to live holy, happily ever after.

11Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Hebrews 12:11 KJV

Hard Fought

I think I shall tell you this picture verse for today must have a beautiful mission for someone dear to GOD because I have fought hard to get it on this screen.
It is beautiful, isn’t it — the passage of Scripture and the last rays of the day’s sun giving us the promise, I’ll be back.
