Someday

Jerusalem. Someday. Someday it will be the joy of the earth. Someday it will be fair and beautiful and all the earth will come to the Great City of GOD. Someday.

Psalm 48:1 Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise, in the city of our God, his holy mountain.2 Beautiful in its loftiness, the joy of the whole earth, like the heights of Zaphon is Mount Zion, the city of the Great King.   source

But until then, it is for us to pray. To pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Psalm 122: (KJV) Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.  source

To Me

It’s Friday, right? Yesterday seemed like Friday too, to me. This whole week has been messed up, to me. But we have arrived. In truth, it’s Friday. Now what?

Psalm 118:24 New Living Translation (NLT)24 This is the day the Lord has made.  We will rejoice and be glad in it.  source

New Today

What will the day bring? New mercies and help.

Lamentations 3:22-23  (ESV) 22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; 23 they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.  source

Psalm 121:1-2  (NASB) 121 I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; From where shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. source

Messy

My Journey Magazine did me good this morning.

I knew the moment I read the opening Scripture that it was new and fresh and for me.

Proverbs 14:4 New Living Translation (NLT)
4 Without oxen a stable stays clean, but you need a strong ox for a large harvest.  source

I am not well familiar with oxen, but I am familiar with messy. And today I am grateful for the reminder that messy is a necessity. What else does the Text say? A large harvest. When we want a large harvest — some messy is inevitable. So, I can fuss at the mess (and the ones who made it) or I can rejoice by lifting my eyes

Psalm 121:1 King James Version (KJV) 121
1
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. source

for the mess and the harvest!
