The LORD is compassionate and gracious.
That is just a fact. The Scripture says it. The LORD is compassionate and gracious. We either believe it or we don’t. Whether we do or not, it’s still so.
Slow to anger. GOD does get angry. It’s a fact. It is also a fact that even in anger He is still compassionate and gracious.
So why do we run from Him, ignore Him, shun Him and flat-out dis-believe Him? Good question.
Ps. 103: 11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him. 12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. 13 Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him. 14 For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust.source

Just a prayer for those hurting today – we all have names and unwanted news to pray over.
Father, for all who received unwanted news today; news that is life altering or life threatening. News that makes no sense; news that crushes our souls and darkens our minds – You know. Thank You for walking the process with us; thank You for helping us to trust You even though we don’t understand and this is everything we did not want. So now we are praying Your Word to You, trusting that we will not despair because we know we will see Your goodness while we yet live here on this sin cursed planet; we will wait for You to strengthen us and comfort us and give us courage to walk the roads before us. We trust You to make a way where we see no way. We trust You to do what is right and holy and loving and kind in the midst of evil; that not only will You give love and grace and kindness to those hurting but You will enable us to come alongside and be Your helpers. Not that You need our help but You have welcomed us as Your helpers and we are so grateful.

V 1 It’s just a fact! It is written here for us. We are safe believing it.
Study the night sky and we will learn. We will get to know something of God if we are willing.
He has pitched a tent for the sun. The sun has a place. It knows its place. It holds its place. It rejoices to run its course. It follows its path – the path the Creator laid out for it. It does what God ordained for it to do. What if we did?
The Law. The Torah. The Word of God is perfect. It will restore our souls. We are safe believing it.
There is a promise attached to God’s precepts. We obey them and we will have joy of heart. It’s a given. We are safe believing it.
Cleanse me of hidden faults the Psalmist penned. I am safe believing that – I have sins I don’t even know about yet. But I want to know so I can repent.
