Find a Smile

Good Saturday morning!

It is lovely here in Lower Alabama this morning.
Sunshine. Pleasant Temps.

I hope you are enjoying this day the LORD has made.

Rejoice and be glad the verse says.

What are you rejoicing about today?
What has made you glad today?
Name a few — and I think you will find a smile.

Holy hugs, Kathie

Wee Hours

Life has taken a turn and I seldom make it to this screen — have you noticed?

So with these few minutes– 327537-3266558215

I have a reading suggestion.
Psalm 66.
I read it in the wee hours of the morning and made notes.

It’s really good reading. Please don’t miss it.

Here’s a LINK to some of my favored translations of Psalm 66.

Happy mid-week, my Friends.

Holy Hugs,

Clichés

Is this month speeding by for you too?

Two weeks and this month, this year, will be done — in the books

Are you making plans for 2024?
Are you thinking you want to do better in 2024 than you did in 2023?
Me too!
Watch after family and friends better. Pay more attention to my calendar. Bring my thoughts captive more. Study more. Read more. Are you thinking about those things too?

That’s what we do at the end of one year leading into a new one, right?
And that’s not bad. It’s good to reflect. Visions and plans are good too.

What does the Bible say?
People perish where there is no vision.  Proverbs 29:18

What else does the Bible say about our plans?

Proverbs 16:9 “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.”  source
Don’t miss the verses before and after. We will surely need them in 2024.
We need them now.

Depending on the circles in which you read or listen you may be getting wind that 2024 may hold some rougher times than did 2023. Perhaps they are right. Perhaps not.

But on this, we can hang our hat, take it to the bank, and other clichés we hear or say, GOD will NOT forsake His Children.

A Look at Prayer

Star of Bethlehem

Interesting Reading.

I did some tonight.
It’s massive to digest.  I read it all, so it’s there but sorting through it now, and mulling it over — that is going to take a while.
What am I talking about?
Glad you asked.

The Star of Bethlehem.

Does GOD speak with Stars?
Try on this excerpt with me.   This clip was copied from the LINK above.

In the Book of Job, Chapter 9, Job credits God with creation of the stars and constellations:

He is the Maker of the Bear [Ursa Major] and Orion, the Pleiades and the constellations of the south.

And in Job Chapter 38, God makes much the same point. He, not man, is sovereign over the creation, particularly the constellations:

31 “Can you bind the beautiful Pleiades? Can you loose the cords of Orion? 32 Can you bring forth the constellations in their seasons…

Many other Biblical writers in many other passages state that God arranged the stars. For example, says the Book of Isaiah in Chapter 40:

Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.

And from Psalm 19.

The heavens are telling of the glory of God;
And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
Day to day pours forth speech,
And night to night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech, nor are there words;
Their voice is not heard.
Their line has gone out through all the earth,
And their utterances to the end of the world.   . . . source

I’m not a learn-ed woman. I’m not a scholar.
In fact, I have a saying: if I can see (understand, comprehend) it, anybody can!

So, without education other than my personal reading and hearing of Scripture, I don’t think JESUS was placed in that feeding trough on December 25. Now I can believe that He was implanted in Mary’s womb on December 25 or thereabout.  What does that do to what I read?
I don’t know. But it was interesting.
