IDOK DEVOTION FOR TUESDAY, MAY 6, 2008

I really liked my Journey this morning. It spoke of a wife who wanted to bring joy to her husband; he enjoyed golf; she knew nothing about it; she took lessons; she learned; she surprised him. She got a surprise too in the process. With each lesson she prayed; with each day she kept in focus her love for John and the joy she desired to bring him.
As we said yesterday, this is Passion Week and this morning’s Journey although “Passion Week” is not mentioned I see it there. I see scenes of Jesus; the cross heavy upon Him; His physical strength and blood flowing from Him and yet He keeps on and on….all the way to the Cross. Why? Because He has in focus His love for me — His love for you — and the Joy He and we will have when the Price is Paid and You and I are redeemed! Oh, What a Savior!!
But what was her surprise? She said her prayer life blossomed and she began to see more and more ways to show love to others. She said: ‘Although the world doesn’t commend us for being selfless, God’s Word says that His Love will be perfected in us when we love others. Believing in God to develop the innermost being changes outward responses to others. Therefore, through the acts of love, love is grown, perfected and released outwardly again’ …..and again and again.
Now, some of us don’t have husbands or maybe we have “stinkers” for husbands and bringing joy to them is not what we have in mind…. Change your mind! And for those of us who have no husbands… Look around!! There is a world of people who need us to do what Jesus has called us to do … Love one another.
Ephesians 4
32 And become useful and helpful and kind to one another, tenderhearted (compassionate, understanding, loving-hearted), forgiving one another [readily and freely], as God in Christ forgave you.
Ephesians 5
1 THEREFORE BE imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father].
2 And walk in love, [esteeming and delighting in one another] as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a slain offering and sacrifice to God [for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance.
What did that say??? Esteeming and delighting in one another! Oh my! Even the stinkers??!! Read the rest… As Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a slain offering and sacrifice to God [for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance. Want to smell good to Father?…. Love — even to the “stinkers” and be kind to them! And just for extra incentive … Remember this is Passion Week — play that scene again in your mind — see Him! See Him under the weight of that cross, yet continuing on — all the way to Calvary; where He willingly lay down on the cross so you and I could LIVE! Yes, we can love those “stinkers” and we can be kind for Jesus sake, we can!!
Father, Passion Week — what a week that was for You — Jesus what a week that was for You and yet You did it. I want to see You Lord; I want to see You. And thank You one day I will see You; I will see You in that flesh and bone body that was weaved and formed and developed in the womb of Mary, birthed and grew to PERFECT MAN, FULLY GOD. Thank You, Jesus; thank You. And Thank You Holy Spirit that even though our physical eyes do not see as yet You have given us eyes to see and hearts and minds to KNOW. Oh Father God thank You; thank You. I have brought my people to You already this morning, I bring them again for strength that our faith in You fail not…not one of us; that we all come to You at our appointed time and we hear You say … “You did good!” Thank You Lord and we proclaim now for all who will hear — You are God and we love You.
And Father much has changed in four years since the writing of those devotional words and prayer; thank You. Thank You for where You have placed me today and with whom; You are AWESOME Father. And Lord for the ‘stinkers’ in our lives, help us love them.
Father, this morning we are thinking of the Kinard Family, Lyndee was only 24 and tonight her Mom and Dad will greet family and friends as we offer comfort but Lord we know that only You can give real comfort to them and we trust You to do that and we are believing that Tommy and Sandra are leaning upon You and receiving Your Comfort even now. Thank You for the years here that You gave Lyndee and thank You more for Eternity with You.
There are others listed here continuing to grieve the physical death of loved ones and for them we pray continued comfort and grace to grieve in holiness. For these listed here we come and we pray for them – thy will be done Lord. For our IDOK Troops we thank You for protecting them today and we thank You that Hawk and Lyndon are Stateside again; we pray for happy and holy reunions with their families. For our Troops who are yet on foreign soil we trust You to protect them in mind, body and spirit. We know that You love them and are caring for them and we thank You. Thank You for the grace and mercy You continue to give to America and we pray for the peoples of America today that You will pour out conviction and grace to repent. We continue to watch the election process and we are grieved that we have no choice about whom we can feel good. Our Hope is only in You Lord. We pray for Pastors and Churches, revive us Father for Jesus sake.

Good Morning Dear Friends!

IDOK DEVOTION FOR MONDAY, MAY 5, 2008

A Tennessee Sunset
We are home and not much worse for the wear – 1400 miles and too much good food has taken some toll but we will soon be back to normal, whatever normal is in the Thompson household!
It is good to be sitting here again with you!!! I have missed you.
Luke 12:7 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
Do not fear therefore because The Father who knows the exact number of HAIRS on your head at all times is surely able to care for You and surely NOTHING slips passed Him; surely NOTHING catches Him off guard; NOTHING is going to come to you today that He has not already ‘seen a coming’ before the world began. YOU (we) CAN TRUST HIM TODAY.
Please continue to pray for my Mom. The hip is healing we think, she is participating in physical therapy; but this transition time is so very difficult for her.
Father, I am grateful to be here again – we have a lot of catching up to do – lead us and don’t let us miss a thing. I have missed being here with You and with our IDOKs. Comfort and lift up each of them today and these listed here. You know the needs of us all and we trust You with each. We trust You with our IDOK Troops to care for them in mind, body and spirit; to protect them and bring them safely home at the appointed time. We entrust this Nation to You and ask for Your Guidance that we each will be citizens who will help rescue soul after soul from corruption. Thank You for today; thank You that NOTHING slips passed You and You are TOTALLY worthy of our trust and You are TOTALLY in love with us today. For Jesus Sake we pray. Alla Mae. W C and family. IDOK DEVOTION FOR TUESDAY, APRIL 29, 2008

I’ve been talking to myself recently about the things I talk to DADDY GOD about. Well, not so much the things I talk to Him about but the way I phrase what I want to talk to Him about. And today I said to myself, or was it The Holy Spirit who said, “You don’t have to beg. He is more than willing and able to do that.” I quickly rephrased my request to a positive anticipation. We should never approach our Father in prayer as if we have to beg Him or ‘twist His Arm’ to get Him to respond to us. We don’t have to cajole Him to give strength to a sister or brother who is hard hit with adverse situations. Would it not build our own faith if we said Father, You know what has happened and I know You have a plan in this and I know You are willing and able to give _______ strength and courage to overcome; thank You for what You are doing for her even now and Holy Spirit thank You that You are empowering her to receive Your help.
And when we are concerned for a lost friend, would it not build our own faith rather than pray as if we have to coax Father to save them but praise Him for what He is doing to draw them to Himself; to praise Him for the mercy and grace He is pouring out upon them; to thank Him for every witness and circumstance that He is using to convince your friend of his or her need of salvation. It is my goal to be positive in my praying; to pray with thanksgiving, to pray Father’s Word back to Him, and to KNOW He will answer. You know that too, don’t you?
One more thing: a line from one of the songs we sang this past weekend is a nugget worth holding on to: I have hope today because the Sovereign God of the heavens loves me.

Meditate on that today; get the arms of your heart around it, embrace it, and make it your own.

Philippians 4: 6 Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.
7 And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
2 Peter 3: 9 The Lord does not delay and is not tardy or slow about what He promises, according to some people’s conception of slowness, but He is long-suffering (extraordinarily patient) toward you, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance.

Father, I know You are watching over each of our IDOKs today and every day. I know You are taking Your Word and empowering it to do that which You have ordained for Your Glory and the good of these listed here. Thank You for the protection You have continually given to our IDOK Troops and we pray for Your Protection again today, mind, body, and spirit. And we thank You that You love them even more than we do. We pray for a successful conclusion to these wars; we pray for the repentance of America; thank You for the mercy and grace You show this nation every day. Thank You for the plans You have for America and thank You for all the encouragement You give us to embrace Your Plans. We continue to obey You in our prayers for the Peace of Israel and to intercede for the Church, that we will be holy and blameless for Your Sake, Lord Jesus.

His Ministry to You

We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
