Jars of Clay

Scripture reading always brings thoughts to me.
The line of reasoning that I’m about to present began with jars of clay in 2 Corinthians 4:7; however, to understand this, ‘Treasure in our jars of clay’ we must go back to verse 6 to identify the Treasure.

Of course, our Treasure is JESUS, and because of Him, we have a message to proclaim to the world and encouragement to give to one another.

With that groundwork laid, I’m here to say, The Gospel of JESUS CHRIST is not given to us to beat people up with. We are not to take Scripture to prove ourselves right and others wrong.

Again, the Gospel is not to beat people up with it, but rather to show them the way out of their misery.
Now, if they don’t see themselves in misery, they are not yet ready to receive The Good News — but by GOD’s grace and our prayers, they will get there.

So, Scripture is not to push people down; it’s to lift them up and out.
Please don’t miss the out part.
JESUS’ Gospel doesn’t condemn people; people are condemned already.
Remember John 3:16 and 17?
So, Scripture is a weapon, but it is not a weapon to be used against one another, but rather against our enemy (and that’s a whole other post).

Wrapping up here, we must not use the Gospel (The Scriptures) to put people in their place. I’ve been guilty of trying to do this. I repent!
Instead, by His grace and in His Love, we shall be conduits, seeing the power of the Scripture set captives all around us free of sin and misery!
Let me phrase this way: Scripture is not for us to prove a point; it is to POINT — Point People to JESUS.

I want to do this! You too?

Startling

Here are the facts. Until a few weeks ago, 6 and 7 were just numbers to me, and then I learned it’s a song, a song that even church kids hum.
Who sings it?
All I’m willing to say here is that he is purportedly a little g god worshipper, complete with live animal sacrifices. Not something to mess around with, you understand.

And then today, in a place I didn’t expect, a little one voiced 6 7.

I was startled, but as the day went on, I went on with my day.
And then, as startling as the morning, right out of the gate when I opened the app, she said this:

Coincidence?

Christian parents, we are going to lose our children to the god of darkness if we don’t turn on the LIGHT.
The LIGHT of the WORLD.
HE said, “Bring the children to Me.”

What does it mean to bring the children to JESUS?  It must be more than taking them to “church”.  Because even there they can hear about 67.

Coincidence.
Is it a coincidence that today stacked up in this unexpected way?
Nah. I can’t say I can swallow that. Can you?

Luke 18 – JESUS blesses the children

We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
