Always, Forever, and Amen

Genesis 46.
Are you interested?
Perhaps you have read it many times.
Even so, perhaps it will be pleasant to hear from it again.

In a vision at night God called to Isra’el, “Ya‘akov! Ya‘akov!” He answered, “Here I am.”

So personal. GOD called him by name, his given name! Think about that. GOD called him by name, his first name, the name his momma and daddy named him. So personal.  I have a strong appreciation for this. You, too?

He said, “I am God, the God of your father. Don’t be afraid to go down to Egypt. It is there that I will make you into a great nation.

I am GOD! Just like that, I am GOD and not just any god but the GOD of your father – no mistake Who is talking to him.
And the first thing He said: Don’t be afraid. But not just any afraid, the specific afraid that Jacob was laboring under. Why do I think he was laboring under it? Because GOD addressed it. What was Jacob afraid of? Going to Egypt! Leaving his home. Going to a strange place with strange people and strange customs. And what else he didn’t even know that was strange there.

But GOD. But GOD made him a promise – I will make you into a great nation. What a promise!  This promise means you will grow in this strange land you are going. You will be fruitful, you will multiply.

I see that as meaning you will have food, shelter, protection – your needs will be met. You will prosper in that strange land. Wow!

Not only will I go down with you to Egypt; but I will also bring you back here again, after Yosef has closed your eyes.”

And then He tells him you will die in that strange land – you will live the rest of your earthly days there but do not worry — I will bring you out even after you are dead.

You see, GOD TELLS THE TRUTH.  We can always, forever and amen depend on GOD to tell us the TRUTH.

That is immeasurably comforting to me.
There is so much more here but that is all I have time to share this morning.

Well, one more thing: please note GOD told Jacob that HE would go WITH him to Egypt (and He would not leave him).

AWESOME GOD!
What else can we say but AWESOME GOD!

It’s Tuesday. Make the most of it in JESUS’ Name.

Seeing Not, Is Believing! (again)

IDOK DEVOTION FOR TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2010
Seeing Not, Is Believing!
I am thinking as I begin, that I will be brief today.  Hebrews 11:17 . . .for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.
As seeing Him who is invisible.  Hmmm  – invisible – even in the Greek Lexicon, invisible means what you expect – you cannot see it.  The one not seeing but enduring here was Moses as described in Hebrews 11.  You will recall Moses was called to lead the Hebrews out of Egypt.  And he did so.  And he endured much in that holy undertaking: for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.  For a proper understanding let us go again to the Greek Lexicon and let us see that our English word ‘seeing’ as used here in verse 17 in Greek  is — horao, meaning to know; become acquainted with by experience. So Moses, he who could not see God with his physical eyes saw Him as he became acquainted with God – as he experienced God.  It’s the same for us. Faith when exercised gives way to experience, we can SEE the God we cannot See and when we do we too can endure pursuing enemies, dry and hostile terrain, and even the same old – same old day after day after day. Yep! That’s it. Seeing the God we cannot See makes life worth living. Hebrews 11: 1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Thank You, ABBA, for allowing us to SEE You; thank You for allowing us the privilege of experiencing You.  Thank You, Holy Spirit, for taking up residency within.  And I pray we will be more and more yielded to You.    And there are these – many families with various needs; strife and discord that we pray will be forgiven and put aside; sin and rebellious children – rebellious parents too, we pray for repentance and restoration.  And our IDOK Troops, we dare not forget them; praying for their safety and protection and well being in spirit, soul and body.  Thank You so much for the way You have taken care of each one of them and I pray that each one listed here will come home safe and sound at the appointed time.  And I pray for Israel.  You know the love You have given me for Your People and I pray for their peace and safety.  I pray too for America.  Thank You for every Christ Believing American and I pray that we who SEE You will be available to minister so others can SEE You too.  I pray for exposure of corruption and repentance of it in this Nation.  I pray for more and more people to stand against the evil that is being pushed in this Government.  I pray that every elected official from the White House to the tiniest little village in America that does not desire to abide by Your Moral Law will be removed from Office.  I pray You will have mercy on America and that You will raise up an ‘Army’ of Christians that will not be silent, not violent, not cruel, but firm in Your Love and Truth and will be a mighty force to stem the tide of corruption and debauchery that is trying to smother and kill this Nation.  I ask You for mercy and grace and space to repent.   And now before posting this I ask You for rest and peace for our IDOKs and Readers. I pray whatever is troubling each one that she/he will be willing to lay it down and let You be exalted in it.  Thank You for another time to gather together and it is in Your Name LORD Jesus that we pray. Amen and amen.

Passover Week

I am not well versed but I understand from some who are that last night at 6:00 Passover Week began. Traditionally, the leaven has been removed from their home-places.

15 Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.

via Exodus 12 KJV;CJB – And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron – Bible Gateway.

We would do well to remove the leaven from our homes for the week of Passover and continuing until you and I pass-over.

ABBA, open our eyes to see the leaven in our hearts that we will cooperate with You to remove it from our lives. Thank You, LORD JESUS, for being our Substitute. Thank You for saving us. HOLY SPIRIT, help us to exalt and demonstrate to all that JESUS is LORD. And, ABBA, in my flawed flesh I pridefully think You have given all how could I even ask for more and yet You expect me to do that very thing: to bring it all. Jamie. Surgery this morning. ABBA, I am asking for a miracle. I am asking You to heal Jamie. I am asking for textbook perfect surgery and textbook perfect recovery for her. I trust You, ABBA, to do all things well for our Jamie. And the report is that Alyssa is doing well. Thank You, ABBA. Thank You. We are a needy bunch of people. Thank You for taking care of us. Thank You for loving us. Thank You for being our Father that always loves us and always provides the best for us. Thank You, ABBA. Thank You. Kerri. Still asking for a miracle. Dylan. Surgery on Wednesday. Again textbook perfect, please, ABBA. Lance and his family. It’s a tough go but we know You are faithful. Terri and her family. Thank You for your faithfulness to them; we trust You. Dori. Pam and Vicki. They are grieving, ABBA, but again You are faithful and we pray for them to receive Your comfort even now. Much good to do today. We pray for eyes to see and hands and feet to do it for JESUS sake. Thank You, LORD YESHUA. Our MESSIAH and SAVIOR.
