Spiritual Strength

Doctors say that most people don’t use their full physical strength. Several stories exist, however, of people who possess extra strength in emergencies, such as lifting a car to save a person’s life. Further, psychologists say that only a fraction of our mental abilities is ever used.

The same is probably true of spiritual powers. If I were warned about each experience before it happened, I might not think I have enough strength to handle it. But each time, God provides enough power. I must rely on Him to give me strength to face every situation.

I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and His incomparably great power for us who believe (Eph. 1:18, 19 NIV).

Thank You, God, for giving me Your special strength in every situation we face together. Continue to be my guide. Amen.
