Let me just say Good Monday Morning (even though it is nearly 10 PM Sunday night)!
The Eastern Shore Women’s Ministry Conference this year was the best yet … we say that every year — only because it is true! The theme this year was Wake Up — My People. And that is just what I want to do — wake up and live! Live like the return of JESUS is imminent — because it is!!
Pastor Aaron Fruh delivered a message that dropped my jaw — Jerry’s too. I am posting a link here for you that will allow you to listen to the message. It will of course not be exactly what we were privileged to hear on Friday night but no doubt will give you a good taste. When the web page opens scroll down to selection number 8. It is titled 8 Harbingers. Let me know what you think.
I had a really good time in Sunday School this morning. We finished up 2 Kings and next week we begin Philippians. I said, “Hallelujah”! Leading an Old Testament study is hard for me, particularly pronouncing those names. But as we were finishing the lesson which was to encourage us to hold on to our hope, I read to the class one of my favorite passages of Old Testament Holy Writ. Would you do me the honor of reading it with me?
Deuteronomy 30 (New American Standard Bible) 1“So it shall be when all of these things have come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind in all nations where the LORD your God has banished you,
2and you return to the LORD your God and obey Him with all your heart and soul according to all that I command you today, you and your sons,
3then the LORD your God will restore you from captivity, and have compassion on you, and will gather you again from all the peoples where the LORD your God has scattered you.
4“If your outcasts are at the ends of the earth, from there the LORD your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you back.
5“The LORD your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers.
6“Moreover the LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live.
7“The LORD your God will inflict all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who persecuted you.
8“And you shall again obey the LORD, and observe all His commandments which I command you today.
9“Then the LORD your God will prosper you abundantly in all the work of your hand, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your cattle and in the produce of your ground, for the LORD will again rejoice over you for good, just as He rejoiced over your fathers;
10if you obey the LORD your God to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this book of the law, if you turn to the LORD your God with all your heart and soul.
11“For this commandment which I command you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it out of reach.
This command to live like JESUS is NOT too difficult for me. It’s not too difficult for you today. It is not out of my reach. It is not out of your reach. Today. Yes, today!
That’s good news to me! You too?
Thank You, ABBA, for this good news. Thank You that in You all things are possible. Thank You that living holy lives is within our reach — all we have to do is yield when You speak. Thank You. I am grateful. You know the things on my mind and I am grateful and delighted that I can entrust them to You. Thank You. I pray that each dear One who comes to this screen will take all those mind occupying things and entrust them to You this very day in JESUS Name. Amen and amen.
Until then + + +
