Dear Frister, Doctor is putting Misty in the hospital as I type this.  All her function tests except one are in and they are all borderline or bad..liver function especially.  She will not go home without delivery this time, he told her…Sooo, probably tonight or tomorrow before five.  He’s leaving for a weekend in Memphis @ five o’clock tomorrow so it will be between now and then.  Pray hard for their health and safety.   Willow Grace, in all her 4 lb. 2 oz. glory will be here soon.

I go to pulmonary doctor tomorrow and if he allows me, I get to see my sister.  Betty is improving.  Thank you sweet LORD for Your handiwork!
Thanks for all your support and prayers.
Love ya!
Melinda

Stand, Look, Ask, Ask, Walk, Find

Who doesn’t want rest for their soul?

Really?

Who doesn’t want to be at peace within their own gray matter? Within their own nervous system? Who wants to live with their insides torn up all the time? Not able to eat, not able to sleep, not able to have a thought that is not assaulted by ‘what ifs’ and ‘whys’ and ‘how could he’, ‘how could she’?  Well? Anybody out there who wants to live that way? I didn’t think so.

Reading my BlogLand Friend, Elaine Olsen’s, book, Peace for the Journey, led me to:

Jeremiah 6: New International Version (NIV) 16 This is what the LORD says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, ‘We will not walk in it.’ via Jer 6:16 – Passage Lookup – New International Version – BibleGateway.com.

Coupled with what Elaine wrote and this verse of Scripture I asked myself:
“Can I stand at a distance from JESUS and expect to see clearly the path He wants me to take?”

I know the answer.  It’s a HUGE, Clearly understood – NO!

So what would it look like for me to NOT stand at a distance from JESUS?

The thought that came was keep myself unspotted by the world so I did a Biblegateway search and found James 1:27 and settled on the NASB version.

James 1: New American Standard Bible (NASB)

27 Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

via James 1:27 – Passage Lookup – New American Standard Bible – BibleGateway.com.

How unstained am I?

I think I have to find out.

I covet your prayers that I may know and that such knowledge be not long in coming and that every change that needs to be made will be made without delay.

I welcome you to join me in this as it is surely the will of God for all of us to discern just how stained by the world we are.

Just one of the KING’s handmaidens,
Kathie
