I Thought So

Deuteronomy is one of my favorite books of the Bible. And for our Friday visit I want to pull three verses from chapter 4 for us to meditate on today and throughout the weekend.

Deuteronomy 4:31 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
31 For the LORD your God is a compassionate God; He will not fail you nor destroy you nor forget the covenant with your fathers which He swore to them.
via Deut. 4:31, 39-40 NASB – For the LORD your God is a – Bible Gateway.

Deuteronomy 4:39-40 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
39 Know therefore today, and take it to your heart, that the LORD, He is God in heaven above and on the earth below; there is no other.
40 So you shall keep His statutes and His commandments which I am giving you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may live long on the land which the LORD your God is giving you for all time.”
via Deut. 4:31, 39-40 NASB – For the LORD your God is a – Bible Gateway.

True. These verses were written first to Israel. They still hold for Israel but when you exchanged your sin debt for JESUS Righteousness, these promises became YOUR promises too.

Galatians 3:29 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
29 And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to promise.
via Galatians 3:29 NASB – And if you belong to Christ then you – Bible Gateway.

But you know this, don’t you? This is not new to you.
I thought so.
But isn’t it good to be reminded? Isn’t it good just to read it again and let it fall fresh and new and sweet and comforting on you again today?
I thought so.

ABBA, thank You that in JESUS we are Abraham’s seed; thank You that You have One Body and the day of joining is coming. And oh what a glorious day that will be. Thank You for each and every Dear One either by email or web page that comes to pray here with me, I pray Your Words will take root and bear much fruit in each of us. We are continuing to pray for many, particularly the McDaniel family and the Henderson family as they celebrate the lives of Ray and Junior, respectively.  Your Word tells us the homecoming of Your Saints is precious to You and yet You know the pain of separation so I know You have comfort to give these families. May it be they receive every morsel of it. And I’m still thinking of Don, Kerri, Diana, Dori, Allison, LaJuanna and every name and circumstance that has been entrusted to us for prayer. Thank You for hearing our prayer and for attending every need in JESUS name. Amen and amen.
