Extreme

I’m taking the verse out of context and I know that is not a good practice but today I think it fits.

Paul was in prison at this writing.
To me, Paul was extreme but in an exceedingly good way; I’d like to be more like him and for you too to be more like him.
He extremely loved people and he extremely desired for people to desire to please The LORD.

We say I will be glad when —-
but Paul said I am glad.
Even in prison, he said I am glad.
What a good and lovely extreme!

Philippians 2:17-18.

17 But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you. 18 So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.

Could we easily find something in this day and say I am glad?

Ephesians 6:10 – Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Thinking about some over-the-years observations today.

Children.
Beloved, wonderful, treasured children.
Often as young as 2 or 3 when given a choice of digital screening, more times than not will choose secular-based (worldly, carnal) entertainment videos rather than JESUS-Centered programming.

Only when they are continuously restricted to gentle, JESUS-honoring videos will they choose such videos in those unguarded moments when the Governess has stepped away.

Peace, goodness, kindness, helping, and Golden Rule leaning are not inbred into our little darlings. These character-building qualities must be learned, beginning in the womb — and how will they learn if they are not taught? And how shall they be taught without a teacher?

Parent first, then others.
We think giving children choices is good and it is.  They need to learn to make age-appropriate choices.
And they do it well when they have first been trained: this is good; this is not good and this will please JESUS and that will not please JESUS.

I wonder as adults do we know what pleases JESUS and what does not? Do we care if our entertainment choices please Him?

URL addresses — some days I wish it was not so hard to teach holiness to little inquiring minds and quick fingers.

Romans 10:15 “And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”
