Follower of Yeshua. Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother. Some call me a teacher. Some say I'm a prayer warrior. A few accredit me with some writing skills. Me? I say I'm a work in slow progress, looking for perfection in eternity and until then having all the holy fun I know how.
Today, I am thankful for a lovely day with family and friends.
Matthew 6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?source
A potato masher. Yes, a potato masher is giving me cause to tell you of reasons to give thanks today.
My Momma’s potato masher. I don’t use it but I value it; so much that it has a place of display in the kitchen. The handle is clear evidence that she used it for years, and she mashed more than potatoes.
Strawberries!
I can still see her mashing that pan of berries as she prepared the berries for the freezer and/or strawberry jam.
Sweet memories!
As we gather today for our official Day of Thanksgiving, count your memories sweet and give thanks for every precious one yet to be made, even today.
For what am I giving thanks today – many things! But what will I bring to this page, to print for you?
The things that sit on my full desk. Things that remind me of people I love. Things that were given long and longer years ago. Things that remind me of seasons far spent and likely will not return again. People who have moved out of my life but have remained in my love and my thoughts and my prayers. And some are still close by.
The things in our lives, I think, should mean something. Why keep them if they don’t? Things should be Ebenezer stones, don’t you think?
1 Samuel 7:12 King James Version 12 Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the Lord helped us. source Hitherto has the LORD helped me through all the seasons and things that sit on my desk.
Hitherto has the LORD helped us. Will you join me in giving thanks for the Ebenezer Reminders in our lives?
We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
