The Back Door

Sometimes I come at Scripture backwards, shall we say, like coming in the back door. Let me explain.

Matthew 22: 37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’  Link to Text

I am thinking in this moment that is exactly what we do, especially when we have a god other than Him.
(Remember now, I said backwards . . . back door.)
The evil one does all he can to see to it that we put other gods before GOD, that we give those gods our heart, mind, and soul. I mean, we go after those little g gods with all we got — careers, cars, houses, prestige, making money, pleasures, comforts, etc., etc.

So, this being true, take heart, my dear Friends, because when we give our allegiance to the LORD GOD, when we surrender to His LORDSHIP, to the GOD and Savior, HE WILL do exceedingly, abundantly more than we can think or ask (Ephesians 3:20-21) to enable us to do just what He said: love Him with all our hearts, soul, and mind. We can REST in this. We can believe this. We can receive this with great joy!

Is my back door making sense to you?
We know from experience that the evil one gives us more help than we want to do the opposite of what GOD says to do.
SO, since the evil one does that, we KNOW the Father will go infinitely beyond and in the other direction to enable us to obey His Word.

Of course! He is going to help us to do every good thing He wants us to do!

And to all that, I can only say, Thank You, Father; we are depending on You.

Fire Power

May I say the most independent thing you or I can do is acknowledge and embrace our utter and complete DEPENDENCE on the Eternal GOD of the Bible.

Of this I am confident. The more dependent I am on GOD my Father, the more independent I am of this world’s system.

Find your independence this weekend. His name is YESHUA of Nazareth.

Holy hugs, Kathie

Flaws and Applause

I have been musing on this for a few days. Today is the day to write. July 4 is days away, and sermons have already been preached about the flaws and ‘applause’ of America.
My thoughts have changed in recent years. Don’t get me wrong, I am abundantly grateful to live here; I am delighted with the comforts, but I’m not enamored with America so as to be swept away with any of this political hoopla that saturates the airwaves.

America has sinned big time, and I don’t see repentance flooding the aisles. I have narrowed my description to four sins We the People practice daily. To be sure, there are voluminous variants, but I believe each can be identified under 1, 2, 3, or 4.
1. Abortion.
2. Sexual Perversion
3. The Worship of Excess
4. The Worship of Self

I understand that since the Supreme Court cowardly sent the jurisdiction of abortion to the States, we now have more abortions performed than before. Not a win for life.
Sexual Perversion. There are no winners in this. Be the participant, heterosexual or queer, or any deviation thereof from Scripture, the practice of same brings destruction of myriad kinds over time, not only to the participants, but family, friends, and the Nation.
Excess, materially or soulishly, is a manifestation of greed, and it is practiced from sea to shining sea. Excess has become the god of many.
Self. The worship of self is the hinge pin of all sin. Every sin we practice is rooted in worship of self. It goes back to the Garden — Ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil, able to decide for yourself (See Genesis 3). And, alas, we do. America does, and she flaunts her sins. Of this I am not proud.

That’s about it for my July 4th soapbox. I truly appreciate my natural-born United States citizenship, and it is my goal and intent to practice righteousness for the good of this Nation, and to do it no harm, but my allegiance is to King Yeshua. As He said, render to Caesar what is Caesar’s and what is GOD’s to GOD. (See Matthew 22)
