Mulling it Over

7:05 on a Saturday night in January 2025. Most of the snow from our record snowfall for South Alabama is nearly gone; only a few patches protected from the sun remain.  Temps are predicted to be above freezing for tonight. Yay!

Tomorrow begins a new week. January 26, 2025 . . . it’s hard to believe, isn’t it?
Our December and January have been so packed with first-time happenings, these weeks have passed almost without notice; other than a few days with family, there were no other holiday festivities. Not even any New Year’s Resolutions.  One week from today will be February 1, 2025!

One thing has been constant, Father GOD is faithful. He has walked us through uncertainties, long days, short nights, dietary changes, fears, anxieties, miracles, and unspeakable joys.

Scriptures have come to mind just when needed. Learning to police uninvited thoughts has become easier.  What a relief! A treasured gift from Above!

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:  (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;   2 Corinthians 5 LINK

We had the pleasure of playing with great-grands for a few hours today. We are grateful.
Australia and its native animals are presently a big draw.  Not so long ago it was a pangolin. We were so delighted to learn about pangolins.  It reminded us again that GOD is Awesome, Amazing, and SO SMART!

And just for fun. Here’s one more. Listen if you dare … you may find yourself singing it.

I suppose that’s enough for this Saturday evening. Perhaps I’ll set this to post in the morning.

Until next time ~ ~ ~ Holy hugs, Kathie

Day 12 – I Get it.

Day 12

Luke 12.BSB

Do you remember on Day 10 we said YESHUA does not mince words?
In our passage today we have another example.

Luke 12: 49-53. This passage may be shocking but let’s examine it.

49 I have come to ignite a fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!
50 But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished!
51 Do you think that I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I tell you, but division.
52 From now on, five in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three.
53 They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.

These verses no doubt have more to say than I comprehend but I think I get something from them.
I get that The Prince of Peace gives peace to those who believe and trust Him. The One who chooses to follow JESUS becomes a new creature, (2 Corinthians 5:17) with a new nature, with new desires, he or she sees the world with different eyes; their wants and desires change as they grow in relationship with JESUS.
The unsaved one, the one not following JESUS does not experience these changes. Therefore, conflicts and divisions between family, friends, people in general are inevitable. Dove-doves-32938530-3488-2616-1733822241

What is one to do to avoid these conflicts and divisions?
Deny JESUS? Refuse to follow Him? Choose family, and friends over Him?

Luke 2: 13 And suddenly there appeared with the angel a great multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying:  14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests!”

Do you see? on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests!
On whom does His favor rest? Those who believe, trust, and obey The SON.

I get it. It’s not easy but is He worth it? We each will decide that.

Sticking With It

Thinking. Reflecting.

I think I have forgotten more than I remember of the Goodness of the LORD to me this year.

Yet this one in particular stays with me.
Reading from Genesis to maps.
I’m ready next for Psalm 119.
This reading through has been one of the sweetest treasures in my Journey of 72, almost 73 years. Just the gift of sticking with it; of seeing it through, not giving up even on those occasions when I have missed a day or two. Of picking up that precious book, finding that golden ribbon that marks the place, and carrying on.
Perhaps we carry on (stick with it) because we carry a Precious Treasure in these earthen vessels. 😊

The gift of sticking with it!

Happy Saturday my Friends.
