Day 12 – I Get it.

Day 12

Luke 12.BSB

Do you remember on Day 10 we said YESHUA does not mince words?
In our passage today we have another example.

Luke 12: 49-53. This passage may be shocking but let’s examine it.

49 I have come to ignite a fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!
50 But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished!
51 Do you think that I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I tell you, but division.
52 From now on, five in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three.
53 They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.

These verses no doubt have more to say than I comprehend but I think I get something from them.
I get that The Prince of Peace gives peace to those who believe and trust Him. The One who chooses to follow JESUS becomes a new creature, (2 Corinthians 5:17) with a new nature, with new desires, he or she sees the world with different eyes; their wants and desires change as they grow in relationship with JESUS.
The unsaved one, the one not following JESUS does not experience these changes. Therefore, conflicts and divisions between family, friends, people in general are inevitable. Dove-doves-32938530-3488-2616-1733822241

What is one to do to avoid these conflicts and divisions?
Deny JESUS? Refuse to follow Him? Choose family, and friends over Him?

Luke 2: 13 And suddenly there appeared with the angel a great multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying:  14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests!”

Do you see? on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests!
On whom does His favor rest? Those who believe, trust, and obey The SON.

I get it. It’s not easy but is He worth it? We each will decide that.

Sticking With It

Thinking. Reflecting.

I think I have forgotten more than I remember of the Goodness of the LORD to me this year.

Yet this one in particular stays with me.
Reading from Genesis to maps.
I’m ready next for Psalm 119.
This reading through has been one of the sweetest treasures in my Journey of 72, almost 73 years. Just the gift of sticking with it; of seeing it through, not giving up even on those occasions when I have missed a day or two. Of picking up that precious book, finding that golden ribbon that marks the place, and carrying on.
Perhaps we carry on (stick with it) because we carry a Precious Treasure in these earthen vessels. 😊

The gift of sticking with it!

Happy Saturday my Friends.

The Bloom is off the Rose

I may not tarry long here.
It’s been full around our house, not much time for coming to this screen, so I am here, I think, just to say hello and perhaps a quick word.

The New does not wear off with GOD.
I searched for a web link that would speak to “the new wearing off” and the closest I could come was “the bloom is off the rose”. Perhaps “the new has worn off” is an old West Tennessee saying.  Even so, I  suspect you know what I mean.

How many of you know that when HOLY SPIRIT makes an impression on you, He does it in a vernacular that you are familiar with? For me sometimes that’s West Tennessee’s old sayings.

A morning or two ago I was thinking in relationships sometimes ‘the new wears off’ and our souls are not as happy with someone as we were.  By the way that is a dangerous place to be and we should seek healing from the LORD right away.
So, as I was mulling these things over Father GOD came to mind and I was deeply impressed that He wanted me to know that with Him the new does not wear off.  He loves me just as deep and wide as He did/does the day I said Yes to His Son JESUS.  John 16: 27 For the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came from God. source

And perhaps it’s a stretch, it sure has stretched me in a good way, 2 Corinthians 5:17 says: 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  (KJV)

The new does not wear off for The Father, He loves His Own, today, tomorrow, and forever.  He loves you just as much today as He did the day you said YES to JESUS.

Until Next Time, Kathie

Ooops, a little longer than I thought; hope you don’t mind.
