Dog Leash

Sometimes I come and sit and look at this blank screen and in my mind, I write something funny or important and I feel connected to a small collection of people beyond this screen.
Silly.
But here I am tickling the keyboard waiting for something to appear on this screen that is worth the publish button.

I have been a tiny, minuscule part of the blogging world since 2005,  I think.
First with another hosting platform, and here at WordPress since 2007. That’s a lot of words.

Oh, Father, You know my desire has been to make You known from the pages of this blog. To establish a connection whereby I could communicate that You are and that they (I) need You; that You are the only hope people have to escape this world with peace and safety. I’d like to keep doing that as long as You will leave me here. For sure, for sure it will take You in me to do this – You are my only hope.

I hope it is immediately apparent as you happen upon The White Stone Blog that it is a web spot where JESUS is King. I hope you find this a pleasant place with refreshing, or perhaps even odd thoughts expressed, good stories, funny stories, interesting information, and real-life help to know GOD better than you did before you stopped by.
I suspect I will not know the good that was accomplished by these pages until I am absent from this body and present with The LORD.

Not to take anything away from my dear brother Paul, I just know it took the Blood of JESUS to wash this sinner clean and it’s a really good thing that that Blood does not lose its power, it keeps on keeping me clean — I did not say sinless, but I do sin less than I used to. Hallelujah!
I have a word this year that I am taking with me through the year.
It’s the word DELIGHT and my aim is that I learn this year more than I ever have to delight in The LORD and to know that He delights in me and to take delight in the people He puts in my life this year, particularly those who came with me from 2023.

It’s been a sweet Sunday here. I hope it is at your house too.

I got to go now. We need a dog leash — we loaned out the one we had to a stranger. :)

Clichés

Is this month speeding by for you too?

Two weeks and this month, this year, will be done — in the books

Are you making plans for 2024?
Are you thinking you want to do better in 2024 than you did in 2023?
Me too!
Watch after family and friends better. Pay more attention to my calendar. Bring my thoughts captive more. Study more. Read more. Are you thinking about those things too?

That’s what we do at the end of one year leading into a new one, right?
And that’s not bad. It’s good to reflect. Visions and plans are good too.

What does the Bible say?
People perish where there is no vision.  Proverbs 29:18

What else does the Bible say about our plans?

Proverbs 16:9 “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.”  source
Don’t miss the verses before and after. We will surely need them in 2024.
We need them now.

Depending on the circles in which you read or listen you may be getting wind that 2024 may hold some rougher times than did 2023. Perhaps they are right. Perhaps not.

But on this, we can hang our hat, take it to the bank, and other clichés we hear or say, GOD will NOT forsake His Children.

A Look at Prayer

Put Another Way

mix match2 Corinthians 6

14 Do not be mismatched with unbelievers; for what do righteousness and lawlessness share together, or what does light have in common with darkness?
15 Or what harmony does Christ have with Belial, or what does a believer share with an unbeliever?
16 Or what agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said,

“I will dwell among them and walk among them;
And I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
17 Therefore, come out from their midst and be separate,” says the Lord.
And do not touch what is unclean;
And I will welcome you.
18 And I will be a father to you,
And you shall be sons and daughters to Me,”
Says the Lord Almighty.  source

To whom is this epistle addressed?
Put another way, who is GOD talking to in these verses of Scripture?
How do these verses compare with yesterday’s verses?  1 John 2: 15 – 17
Are the matters related? And if so, how so?

What is GOD saying to us?  What is He saying to YOU?

Take care, my Friends, Kathie

Remember Lot’s Wife

I and likely thousand upon thousands were admonished by the sermon to Remember Lot’s Wife.

It was a good and valid sermon as far as it went. I am mindful now as I think of it it is like a surgeon with a scalpel – a cutting tool. Do we not know unless the surgeon cuts deep enough and wide enough diseased tissue will not be eradicated, and it will be left to  invade and infect connecting healthy tissue?

32Remember Lot’s wife.

You can find the verse at Luke 17:32.

It’s written in red — JESUS spoke it with His GODMAN lips when He walked on this earth.
To whom did He say it?
We would have to read the chapter to answer that.  I am providing you a LINK for immediate reading. And I hope you will read it. Verse one will answer the question.

1 Now He said to His disciples, “It is inevitable that stumbling blocks come, but woe to one through whom they come!  source

To whom is He still saying it?
Isn’t it safe to say He is still speaking to us, His Disciples of today?

Remember Lot’s wife
What did Lot’s wife do? I hope you will read Genesis 19 for the answer.

It’s been said she got stuck. I get that but let’s cut deeper.
Why did she get stuck?
Was it her house in the city? Was it her new king-size comforter? Was it her prominent lifestyle?  Was it friends? Was it her lovely garden? A new chariot and that beautiful stallion in the stall?
We cannot say for certain and perhaps that is good because now it’s open for us to identify with her, learn from her sin and not sin in that way ourselves.
So just why did she die with the same sulfur that killed the people in Sodom?

Allow me to give you an answer to ponder.word of GOD

Because she disobeyed GOD!
Getting stuck my Friends in whatever state it may be (bitterness, unforgiveness, addictions, resentments, etc.) is a consequence of SIN.
Disobedience.
Why are we so afraid to use the words sin and disobedience in Christiandom today?
Why do we use softer words like stuck?  Why do we not wield the Word of GOD like a skilled surgeon uses a scalpel?
People do not need band-aids. They need transformation — to become a new creation. (see 2 Corinthians 5:17)

Remember Lot’s Wife.
Lot’s wife died Y’all. She died because she refused to obey GOD.

How many things in our lives do we love more than we love obeying GOD?
Remember Lot’s Wife. Luke 17:32.

Love, Kathie
