Solace for Today

Psalm 118.
The verse we are most familiar with just might be verse 24.

24 This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.  source

Let’s look at a few other verses. I hope they will encourage you. 
In these trying days, The Scriptures are a solace and a place of strength and encouragement for me. I hope they are for you as well. 

5 In my distress I prayed to the Lord,
    and the Lord answered me and set me free.
6 The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear.
    What can mere people do to me?
7 Yes, the Lord is for me; he will help me.
    I will look in triumph at those who hate me.
8 It is better to take refuge in the Lord
    than to trust in people.
9 It is better to take refuge in the Lord
    than to trust in princes.  source

13 My enemies did their best to kill me, but the Lord rescued me.
14 The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. source

26 Blessed is he who comes in the name of Adonai. We bless you from the house of Adonai.

27 Adonai is God, and he gives us light. Join in the pilgrim festival with branches all the way to the horns of the altar.

28 You are my God, and I thank you. You are my God; I exalt you.
29 Give thanks to Adonai; for he is good, for his grace continues forever.  source

For He is good. 
Yes. Always and forever He is good. 

Let us remember this today. 
He is always good and we are always loved.

A really quick post this morning — I think.

 29 yet I tell you that not even Shlomo in all his glory was clothed as beautifully as one of these.  Matthew 6   source. 

Shlomo – that would be Solomon to us Westerners.

YESHUA, the GODMAN, JESUS if you prefer — look what JESUS said.

If you check the Text in context you will see as one of these He is pointing out the flowers of the field – perhaps even irises . . . one of my favorites!

JESUS spoke to His disciples about Solomon. Solomon in as his glory – all the riches he had accumulated; all his accomplishments. 

How did JESUS know about Solomon to even tell His disciples? 
Solomon’s time on earth was approximately 967 years BEFORE YESHUA was born in Bethlehem. 

I have my own ideas. 
Do you? 

Something to think about isn’t it?

Do you know what pleases me so? 
JESUS knew Solomon! 
JESUS knows me! 
Does He know YOU?

It seems some folks like him – a lot; and some folks dislike him – a lot.
But here’s the question: Is he wrong? Is he in agreement with Scripture? 
Does Scripture matter to you? Does Scripture govern your thoughts and your deeds?
