Not in Vain

So having penned all he penned; the surety of the resurrection of Jesus, the surety that we too will be raised, that death and sin will be swallowed up in victory, let us do this:

58 So, my dear brothers, stand firm and immovable, always doing the Lord’s work as vigorously as you can, knowing that united with the Lord your efforts are not in vain.

Our efforts are not in vain. Your efforts are not in vain. Press on my Friend.

Thank You, ABBA, our efforts are not in vain. Vigorously as I can. Fine tune that within me I pray. And not just me but every soul who reads and agrees.

And on this 49th day of 2014, let us vigorously pursue loving Him and one another,

Everything!

I’ve been reading some encouraging words on this cold Lower Alabama morning. May I share?

From JESUS CALLING by Sarah Young:

“Remember that I can fit everything into a pattern for good, including the things you wish were different.”

Everything? Even that mess that’s been hanging around for — well, years?

Yes. Everything.

Renewed hope. Renewed strength. And sweet peace. Thank You!

Thank You, ABBA, for encouraging words. Thank You for the strength and power and courage along with those words to make them alive in us. Thank You.

12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

via Hebrews 4:11-13 KJV;CJB – Let us labour therefore to enter into – Bible Gateway.

4 For whatsoever things were written in times past, were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.

via Romans 15:3-5 KJ21;CJB – For even Christ pleased not Himself, – Bible Gateway.

Our 41st day of 2014, what shall we do with it?

Tending

36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were harried and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

via Matthew 9 KJV;CJB – And he entered into a ship, and passed – Bible Gateway.

The verse speaks of Yeshua.

Crowds.
Many people.
And there still are.

He had compassion on them. On us. Why?

Because they were harried and helpless. So are we.

Harried.  troubled persistently especially with petty annoyances via harried – definition of harried by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.

Does that sound about right? persistently surrounded by petty annoyances.

And Helpless.

Unable to help oneself; powerless or incompetent. via helpless – definition of helpless by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.

Yep! That’s us. Powerless and incompetent to save ourselves!

So Jesus had compassion on us! And because of Him we are no longer helpless. He is our help. And we are no longer harried – well, we are still working on that one :) with The Shepherd’s Tending!

Grateful on this 27th day of 2014 for The Shepherd’s Tending – no longer helpless and learning to be less harried!!

Short but Full

19 Pilate then took Yeshua and had him flogged. 2 The soldiers twisted thorn-branches into a crown and placed it on his head, put a purple robe on him, 3 and went up to him, saying over and over, “Hail, ‘king of the Jews’!” and hitting him in the face.
via John 19 KJV;CJB – Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and – Bible Gateway.

And what would have been your response and my response if this were the treatment we received?

That’s why we need a Savior!

May we choose A Gratitude Day!, my Friends, on this 16th day of 2014!!
