Category Archives: A Quick Hello

Ahh

So good to be home!

Jerry has cashed in on some much need sleep since getting home from the hospital this afternoon. We have received delightful phone calls, I’ve handled a few loads of laundry, and have eaten too many cookies and wonderfully moist banana bread; and now I am about spent but wanted to say hello and wish you a blessed weekend and thank you for your love and prayers.

I’ll plan to check in with you again soon and in the mean time

Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)  Hebrews 12
1 Therefore since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses  surrounding us, let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnares us, and run with endurance  the race that lies before us,
2 keeping our eyes on Jesus,  the source and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame,  and has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne.
3 For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, so that you won’t grow weary and lose heart. via Hebrews 12:1-3 HCSB – The Call to Endurance Therefore since – Bible Gateway.

Gals of Scripture

Some things are beginning to come together for my Gals of Scripture study. I am narrowing the WHO(s) we will study. I so covet your prayers for me as I do this.

Playing around with words I am now calling the study: Gals of Scripture because
God
Always
Loves
Sinners and Saints

And because God Offers Salvation to and even delivers His message of Salvation through Gals of Scripture.

I know, I’m quirky but what can I say; I am who I am — for now.

So that being said and moving quickly to get this posted, my love to you, my IDOKs, and thank you for your specific prayers for me. The class starts September 8.  I don’t have much time and, in truth, I’ve never done this before, not like this. Yikes!! So PLEASE pray.

A Beautiful Specimen

While ironing today, I watched the movie Secretariat again. And when we reached the end I was crying big ol crocodile tears.

You are free to think I am a bit further out in right field than you have until now thought, but today watching the portrayal of Secretariat winning the Belmont Stakes, I got a Word from JESUS.

You see I really think DADDY GOD enjoyed Secretariat winning that race on June 9, 1973.  I think He enjoyed seeing that beautiful specimen He created laying it all out there; running for all he was worth and winning the prize.

But what really brought on the tears was seeing, hearing in my spirit, that is what He wants for me too. To lay it all out there and run in His Name for all I’m worth and win the prize.

I’m still smiling about that and I think DADDY GOD is too. How awesome He is!!

Philippians 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
via Philippians 3 KJV – Finally my brethren rejoice in the Lord – Bible Gateway.

A sweet weekend to you all. Run your race well, lay it all out there in His Name and for His Sake and worship His Majesty.

Thank You, ABBA.  I love You for Who You Are. Amen and amen.

Ants

I don’t even get to hate ants!

Truly, I’m not kidding and now in hindsight I am so glad. Would you like to hear this story? Good. Because I have to have something to write about and this is a fresh happening.

Yesterday the front porch was host to a million ants. No I am not exaggerating. There were at least four streams of them hiking from east to west (and my hubby would be proud to know I know the direction) the span of the front porch. I warred with them off and on throughout the day — they won.  So last night in a last attempt just after nightfall, I uncoiled the water hose and proceeded to produce a tsunami for them, hoping the forceful flood of water would slaughter at least 500,000 of them and would discourage the return of the others.

This morning in the early waking hours I sensed some unrest in my spirit and I was not prepared to live with it so I inquired of the LORD. And sure enough. I don’t get to hate ants. Not because He has a fondness for ants above me but because hating ants is destructive to me. That is not to say I must resign myself to ‘peacefully’ co-exist with them, but it is to say even in the thick of the battle to separate myself from them I must not hate them. If I want to abide in the peace of GOD and I do, I must have a heart of thanksgiving and void of hatred for anything, anyone, any creature.  I get to hate one thing — sin.

So do you have some ‘ants’ in your life; the very human kind? At all cost, forgive and petition the LORD to remove the hate from your heart. There is no other way to have His peace abiding in you; no other way to have His blessings.

Did the tsunami work? Of course not! They are back this morning. Same hiking trails as yesterday. The only change is me. I’m smiling and in sweet peace — ants and all. Albeit we did fed them some Sevin Dust this morning — time will tell. :)

Go to the ant, O sluggard, observe her ways and be wise,

Amen and amen. We can learn a lot from an ant.  :)

Happy weekend to you all.
