Good to the Use

Wednesday!

I’m only here at our Page for a few minutes; have a sermon to listen to, phone calls to return, some other odds and ends, and errands to run mid-morning; but in all this doing I just wanted to say I prayed for each of you by name this morning.

Be positive.

Be thankful.

This is my charge for today. Perhaps for you too.

Ephesians 4:29 King James Version (KJV)
29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

There are prayers to pray!

First December Wednesday of 2011

Good Wednesday morning. It’s a cool one here in lower Alabama. Cool and damp. But in the arms of our GOD is love and warmth, comfort and resources to meet our every need.

And since it is Wednesday it is pray for you by name (or email address) day.  Your prayers for me and mine would not be wasted. 🙂

Deuteronomy 7:8-10 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
8 but because the LORD loved you and kept the oath which He swore to your forefathers, the LORD brought you out by a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
9 Know therefore that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments;
10 but repays those who hate Him to their faces, to destroy them; He will not delay with him who hates Him, He will repay him to his face.
via Deuteronomy 7:8-10 NASB – but because the LORD loved you and kept – Bible Gateway.

Amen and amen, ABBA, I pray each who comes to this page and whose names I now call before You will find themselves on the pages of Your Word. I pray they will know that they know that they know You are faithful to them, that You are kind and just in all Your ways, both those things You allow and those things You do. That You will never forsake Your own. Help us to fret not, ABBA, but trust You; to live in Your peace and joy even in adverse and painful seasons. Amen and amen.

You

Day 30 — You

It seems fitting to me to give thanks today for each of You on this our 30th day of Giving Thanks here at The White Stone. It all began a morning in June 2003 when I emailed four of you a few words of commentary on the verse of Scripture that spoke to me that morning. You are still with me. I am so grateful. And grateful for every one of you that have come along since. Thank you for your love and prayers all these years.

You all have been so good for me. Your accountability has kept me going to the Scriptures, perhaps without you, I would not have been faithful. Thank you for helping me.

Thank you too for the thousands of prayers that you have prayed — we don’t know all the miracles our Father, has performed just because we asked.

Thank you for your attentive spirits and words of concern and encouragement when you read between the lines sensing that I needed a word from you.  Thank you especially for your prayers in those times.

Thank you for understanding and encouraging me when I stepped out in faith to take a new name – Kathie Whitestone.
(If you are too new here to know that story, click HERE)
And then again when you overwhelmingly shared my happiness as I became Kathie Whitestone Thompson.
Oh, what a day!!
Our wedding day was neither traditional nor conventional, but it sure was fun!
And for these 30 days of November perhaps we have like so given thanks.

Well, Dear Ones, thank you.  I hope we have many more years together to share JESUS and His Word. Come to think about it — we have all eternity! Now that’s a reason to give thanks!!!

Isaiah 57:  21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
14 And shall say, `Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare the way; take up the stumbling block out of the way of My people.'”
15 For thus saith the high and lofty One who inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
via Isaiah 57:14-16 KJ21 – And shall say `Cast ye up cast ye up – Bible Gateway.

Our love to you all. Let’s keep giving thanks.

A Double

Day 23 — A Double

A double load of thanks today.

For sunshine after rain. Even if it is only intermittent and momentary.
And for the power to choose to resist temptation.

I deviated from my flight plan this morning. That is I did not get on board when I opened my eyes this morning – didn’t even go near the hanger 🙂 .  And so about mid-morning I was sorely tempted to just blow off the whole day. And I could have done that – the world would not have crumbled.
But I am thankful to report: I seized that thought, wrestled it to the ground and jumped on board right where I was. And a few moments ago as I was juicing an apple, a carrot and a handful of cheeriest for lunch, I noticed it was only 12:45!! I marveled at what had been accomplished in such a short time.

How wonderful is it that as long as there is breath it is not too late to do the right thing.  And that will ‘preach’ in any situation, won’t it? 🙂

Have a happy day – do the right thing, even if it seems way late.

1 Corinthians 10: 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
12Therefore let him that thinketh he standeth, take heed lest he fall.
13There hath no temptation taken hold of you but such as is common to man. But God is faithful; He will not suffer you to be tempted beyond that which ye are able to bear, but with the temptation will also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
14Therefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
via 1 Corinthians 10:12-14 KJ21 – Therefore let him that thinketh he – Bible Gateway.

Hmmm. verse 14 immediately following verse 13 gives me cause to wonder; could it be when we refuse to resist temptation, we have stepped off into idolatry?

Whatcha think?

Closed Windows

Day 16 – Closed Windows

Today windows gave cause for me to give thanks. Actually a closed window is what brought on the thanks. This particular window opened even a little would not have pleased me today. Opened, it would have been an invitation to grand to pass up for Mr. Lizard. The screen was insufficient so there he was all stretched out enjoying himself on MY side of the screen. Oh yes I am SO thankful for closed windows!

Closed windows are good boundaries. They keep out unwanted(s) and yet yield themselves to the passing through of light and vision.

Perhaps all God’s Children need to make use of some closed windows. Ponder that a bit and share your thoughts with me. If the comment (reply) window below is a bit intimidating, my email works.

1 John 1:4-6 (New American Standard Bible)
4 These things we write, so that our joy may be made complete.
5 This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth;
