And if you are not praying about the debt ceiling shenanigans that are going on, please begin immediately. I am appalled at the pride and arrogance flaunting itself in Washington at the expense of We the People.

Even so come quickly LORD JESUS; but until You do, HOLY SPIRIT, move me to be faithful and full of courage because You, LORD, are our KING and Provider and You will never forsake us. Based upon these Scriptures, I am urging you (and counseling myself) especially in this maliciously generated economic instability, to faithfully devote ourselves to:
1. pray without ceasing (I Thessalonians 5:17)
2. daily, read and search the Scriptures. (Acts 17:11)
3. attend and serve in a local Bible-Believing Church (Hebrews 10:25)
4. give at least a tithe of all your income and extra offerings (Malachi 3:10)
5. evangelize the world (Mark 16:15)

This is our reasonable service; anything less is willful disobedience.

Last night Dr. Tony Evans explained it this way: it’s a great verse in a bad chapter, in a bad book.(Bad in that sin and rebellion were abounding and the people were suffering the consequences thereof – still God was offering them hope in the bad chapter and the bad book.)
