See To It

Just a few questions this morning if you are willing to play along.
As last week your response is welcome via comments below or email.

Colossians 2: (New American Standard Bible)
8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.

SEE TO IT

How important is ‘see to it’?

What does ‘see to it’ walk out like in your life?

Do you have a ‘see to it’ list?  Would you share an item or two with me that’s on your ‘see to it’  list?

Is ‘see to it’ a concept that bridges the spiritual to the material and vise versa?

Yep. Preparing for Sunday School.  :)

Hope you all are praying and praising today.  There are many, many needs around us and more stuff to PRAISE JESUS about than we can even think to name.

LaJuanna is waiting on test results — not an easy, comfortable place to live.
Jenny is traveling well on her road to recovery but no prayer for her would be wasted.
DeLois and supporting family would be encouraged by your prayers today.
I haven’t had an update on Iris Prosch but with her serious condition, a few warriors standing with her today would be ‘heavenly’.
Ken Croteau and Della were added to our list on April 26, still a fresh request, certainly need there.
Kathy and Joe, war with them as they praise and Kathy walks out this miracle.
Crews from Satsuma First Baptist are in route to help with aftermath of last week’s tornadoes — can’t pray too much over all that is linked to this, all over the State.

And you will find others at Praying for These

Thank you, Dear Ones!

Lily

Good Wednesday Morning my Friends.

This is a sad morning for the Deanes and Thompsons. My GRANDS’ beloved dog, Lily, died this morning. So prayers for grieving children would not be wasted on us.

I am borrowing a devotion from our Guidepost devotional calendar.  It is this morning’s reading. The Author is Alma Barkman.

“There were just two ladies ahead of me that day at the supermarket checkout aisle. The first had a shopping cart loaded top to bottom with groceries and household cleaning supplies.
Must have a family, I speculated as I watched her unload. (It’s a mental game I often play in waiting lines.) Big box of detergent–active outdoor kids. Prepackaged puddings, small boxes of juice, crackers and cheese–kids take lunches to school. A wide variety of salad makings–Mom diets. Choice cuts of beef–Dad barbeques. Tins of dog food–pampered pooch.
The old lady ahead of me was also watching the succession of boxes and cartons and bags that passed over the scanner. The total appeared, and the well-dressed woman reached into her leather handbag and took out her debit card. Meanwhile, the old woman was fumbling in her own purse for a crumpled slip of paper, which she smoothed out on the counter. I recognized it instantly as a coupon redeemable for ten percent off any grocery order over $100.  “Wait a minute!” she said to the woman who was about to pay. “I clipped this out of the weekly sale bill. Go ahead and use it. It could save you about fifteen dollars.”

“Why, uh, thank you. Thank you for your . . . generosity,” the recipient stammered.
“You’re most welcome,” the old woman replied cheerfully. “I pass on those coupons to other folks as often as I can.” Then, placing a head of cabbage, three potatoes, and a small bottle of cola on the checkout counter, she greeted the cashier brightly. “Hello there, sonny! I guess you better run a subtotal before you ring up that pop. I might just be a little short today.”

Father in Heaven, even though I may be “a little short today,” help me to maintain a generous spirit. Alma Barkman.

I am thinking that we are only poor when we refuse to be generous.

Are you thinking that too?

ABBA, thank You for teaching us what generosity means. And in this time following last week’s storms and with friends, family and strangers so devastated, I pray for generous spirits in us all. You have made this ministry privy to many who are physically ill and others staring down tremendous fears and oppositions, we pray for them all, believing You are willing and able to help. We particularly  remember our IDOK Troops and Security Intelligence, praying for protection, revelation, wisdom and courage. Thank You for loving us. Thank You for saving us. Thank You for giving us eternal purpose and I pray we will be encouraged to follow hard after You today in JESUS Name.

Thank you for praying,
Kathie

What a Prayer!

The Passage we are about to read comes after Peter and John had spent the night in jail and the next morning the Rules and Elders (Religious Folks) examined them and in the end charged them to shut up about JESUS. Upon their release they gathered with their companions of Faith and reported to them what the Chief Priests and the elders had said.

Acts 4: (New American Standard Bible)
24 And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God with one accord and said, “O Lord, it is You who MADE THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH AND THE SEA, AND ALL THAT IS IN THEM,
25 who by the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David Your servant, said,
‘WHY DID THE GENTILES RAGE, AND THE PEOPLES DEVISE FUTILE THINGS?
26’THE KINGS OF THE EARTH TOOK THEIR STAND, AND THE RULERS WERE GATHERED TOGETHER AGAINST THE LORD AND AGAINST HIS CHRIST.’
27 “For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,
28 to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose predestined to occur.
29 “And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that Your bond-servants may speak Your word with all confidence,
30 while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy servant Jesus.”
via Acts 4:24-30 – Passage Lookup – New American Standard Bible – BibleGateway.com.

And the result of that prayer?

Acts 4: (New American Standard Bible)
31 And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.
via Acts 4:31 – Passage Lookup – New American Standard Bible – BibleGateway.com.

Verses 32 – 34 goes on to say of them that they were
Of one heart and soul
The apostles were with great power giving testimony to the resurrection of THE LORD JESUS
And there was not a needy person among them.

Sounds Radical. Sounds like what is missing today.

ABBA, help us repent in JESUS Name.

HIS,
Kathie

Mid Friday Morning Hello

Ironing and watching Joyce Meyer.

And she quoted

Isaiah 40:(King James Version)
31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
via Isaiah 40:31 – Passage Lookup – King James Version – BibleGateway.com.

And I thought just a quick word to my Friends.

Wait upon the LORD and our strength shall be renewed.

Wait before Him before we open our mouths to others.

Wait before Him before we decide yes I will do that.

And the list goes on and on.

And our strength to live godly will be given us as we wait before the LORD.

Back to ironing and Joyce.

It’s a beautiful day.

Love you all — have a holy and happy weekend.
