An Appeal

If you will, I’d like for you to assist me with my Sunday School lesson prep.  I have a question I am contemplating asking my class about Colossians 1:23.

Colossians 1: (New American Standard Bible)
23 if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister.

What causes people to move away from the hope of the Gospel?

In what circumstances do you feel most vulnerable and are tempted to lose hope?

Do you think verse 24 gives the nutshell answer and if so what do you perceive that answer to be?

Colossians 1: (New American Standard Bible)
24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I do my share on behalf of His body, which is the church, in filling up what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions.

Thought Landing II

Just to complete the set, I am posting here a link for Part II of Joyce Meyer’s Why am I in a bad mood? message. I hope you will watch and find encouragement and courage.

Blessed to bless,
Kathie

Thought Landing

I heard a Minister plead with his audience today to receive JESUS, that HE had died for them.
Immediately a thought landed hard.

Are lost folks actually moved when we say to them that JESUS died for them?

Is there so much death and destruction in this culture that we are jaded to death?

And if so what can we do about it?

As I type Joyce is ministering “Why am I in a bad mood?” Click HERE for a link. Lets watch. Lets listen.

Blessings!
Kathie

With, On, and By

It’s a pretty Monday as I sit to prepare something for our Tuesday time together. And on this pretty Monday I’ve begun to look forward to Sunday when I again, LORD willing, get to lead another Sunday School/Bible Study Class. Our prescribed Text is Colossians 1:21-2:7. It will be good!

Verse 22 in the NASB version has a word that I am looking at with you.

Colossians 1: (New American Standard Bible)
22 yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach–

Reconciled.

At first blush we would say reconciled means to bring into agreement. Like reconciling our check book with the Bank’s records – we want them to ‘agree’. And when there is agreement, there’s an understanding. I know how much I have to spend, the Bank knows how much and we are both held to that amount

Think about that enough, applying it to your relationship with ABBA and you’ll get way excited!

Moving on —  the definition of reconciled is even broader. Like this:

rec·on·cile (rkn-sl)
2. To become compatible . . . .
via reconciled – definition of reconciled by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia..

JESUS came to earth to make man compatible again with the Creator. He is still doing this.

When we believe, when we trust, when we receive the Gift of Eternal Life given only by JESUS CHRIST, we become compatible with GOD.

What happens when two are compatible? As Southerns say: they get along together. They enjoy each others company.

Are you enjoying GOD’s Company today? Are you and He getting along today?

If not you need to find out why.

There can only be one reason for you and me to not enjoy DADDY GOD’s company — SIN!

And what’s right in the middle of sin?

I

When Believers who have received JESUS within are not enjoying His company, the problem is I. Their focus is I. Their will is all about I. What I want. What I will do. What I won’t do. What’s been done to ME (I). What’s not been done for ME (I). And it’s a miserable way to live.  Isn’t it?

So don’t do it.

Some other words in the verse are holy, blameless and beyond reproach.

Now that’s living!

So lets live today. In JESUS Name lets live!

Numbers 6: (New American Standard Bible)
24 The LORD bless you, and keep you;
25 The LORD make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you;
26 The LORD lift up His countenance on you, And give you peace.’

I hope you are continuing to pray for all those on our Praying for These list. Our Ministry begins with, hinges on, and continues only by prayer.  — In His Name, Kathie

ABBA, my prayer desire continues to be that You will heal Kerri; that You will stabilize and bring to normal her calcium levels; that You will give her a new lease on life here to love and care for her son and family. And my desires continue to be that You will bring Jenny to a full recovery; that You will heal Sandi Leon; that Cindy will see you faithful to her as she grieves – that each day she will more and more focus on what’s next with You. And our IDOK Troops, always remembering them, praying for safety and protection. And other matters too, You know. And, thank You for the gift of faith that keeps on trusting You. Thank You for hope that keeps on smiling up at You when life is hard. Thank You that we know You are good always. Amen and amen in JESUS NAME and only in His name we pray.
