Made Beds

Day 11 – Made Beds

Seriously.
As I was making the bed this morning I thought to be thankful. Thankful for many things reflected in the making of a bed, ours in particular. And mingled in all those thankful thoughts was this Scripture text.

John 5: 8 Jesus said unto him, “Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.” via John 5 KJ21 – After this there was a feast of the – Bible Gateway.

The making of a bed indicates its sleepers have arisen. That one action alone is brimming with reasons to give thanks. Such as health and well-being to actually get out of bed, pull up the covers, fluff the pillows, smooth out the comforter and pile on the animals.  :)   Blessings, privileges, graces, are just about endless that come to mind making one’s bed.

And then the Scripture. Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. Don’t you know the man who had been crippled for 38 years was jubilant to make his bed.  He was later found in the temple.

Let us rise from sleep, make our beds and our lives count for JESUS. He is so worthy!

Our love to you all.  Plan on enjoying the weekend, investing in activities that will earn eternal reward.

Colossians 3:23-25 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not unto men,
24 knowing that from the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance, for ye serve the Lord Christ.
25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done, and there is no respect of persons.

Healthy Tired

Day 10 – Healthy Tired

A healthy tired. What a blessing!

A healthy tired means a body has been exerted and has favorably responded. It means plans and tasks have been performed. It means family and friends have been blessed. Perhaps meals have been prepared, trousers have been mended, laundry has been cleaned, dried and put away, beds have been made, toys have been returned to their assigned places, kitchen floors feel good to bare feet, clients have been served, drawings are perfected, assets and liabilities balanced, papers graded, patients made better, and the list could go on and on. It’s endless – in a good sort of way. Muscles have been engaged and found strong, the minds have reasoned and calculated and pressed on to a healthy tired. What a blessing!

Galatians 6:
9 Don’t get tired of helping others. You will be rewarded when the time is right, if you don’t give up.
10 We should help people whenever we can, especially if they are followers of the Lord.
via Galatians 6 CEV – Help Each Other – My friends you are – Bible Gateway.

2 Thessalonians 3: Contemporary English Version (CEV)
12 So, for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ, we ask and beg these people to settle down and start working for a living.
13 Dear friends, you must never become tired of doing right.
via 2 Thessalonians 3:12-14 CEV – So for the sake of our Lord Jesus – Bible Gateway.

So are you blessed with a healthy tired? Then give thanks!

Plans

Day 9 – Plans

Plans that work. Plans of action that we put into play and they work! I told you on Day 3 that I was thankful for online friends in particular Flylady dot net and I am. But what is really cool and neat and makes me smile is Fly Lady’s Plan as adapted for me and by me is WORKING and I am rejoicing!

Plans.
We all need them. Without them we are tossed about like a wave on the sea by every wind that blows. And it makes life messy and the house too. :)

Let me really jump in here. It’s godly to make plans – holy plans that is. Plans to do good. Plans to build. Plans to bless. Plans focused on bringing order instead of chaos. And to have no plans or to have plans and fail to carry them out to the best you can with God’s help — Well, that’s not what JESUS did or does. And we should not either. Do I need to say more?

Jeremiah 29:11 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
11 For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.
via Jer 29:11 NASB – For I know the plans that I have for – Bible Gateway.

So here’s your challenged for today – be thankful, pray, make some plans and in His Strength work that plan — even baby steps are better than no steps.  :)

Ecclesiastes 9:10 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might; for there is no activity or planning or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol where you are going.
