Of a Mind

YouVersion.

I open this app often, almost daily. I did today and I found a verse in one of the devotions that required I ask myself some questions. And since I’m asking, perhaps you will also be of a mind to ask yourself a question or two.

So the question I was compelled to ask?
So, what are you craving? I mean what. Are. You. Craving?
What in this world do you want?

How we answer that will tell us who we are. It will tell us who and where our priorities fall.
I’m getting the picture with my name on it. And you?

Experience

Perhaps it was the KJV in which you memorized it.

Romans 8:28  (KJV) 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.  source

And if you are like many who have been in covenant with GOD for many years you know it to be true experientially.  And this coronavirus siege will not change your experience.

Let’s try on this version:

Romans 8:28  (AMP) 28 And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.  source

That’s good too for pondering today.

I’m Thinking

Luke 3.

Did you know Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea before Yeshua ever preached His first sermon?

1 It was now the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar—when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, and Herod was tetrarch of the Galilee, and his brother Philip was tetrarch of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias was tetrarch of Abilene. 2 During the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came upon John, the son of Zechariah, in the wilderness.  source

Do you remember what his wife said to him on that fateful day when Jesus was before him?

Matthew 27: 1 When it was morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people (Sanhedrin, Jewish High Court) conferred together against Jesus, [plotting how] to put Him to death [since under Roman rule they had no power to execute anyone]; 2 so they bound Him, and led Him away and handed Him over to Pilate the governor [of Judea, who had the authority to condemn prisoners to death].

13 Then Pilate said to Him, “Do You not hear how many things they are testifying against You?” 14 But Jesus did not reply to him, not even to a single accusation, so that the governor was greatly astonished.

19 While he was seated on the judgment seat, his wife sent him a message, saying, “Have nothing to do with that righteous and innocent Man; for last night I suffered greatly in a dream because of Him.”   source

Perhaps Pilate didn’t make it out and about amongst the people for that 3 and 1/2 years that Yeshua was preaching and healing and saving every honest soul who asked Him; but, I am thinking his wife heard plenty. I am thinking she was moved by what she heard. I am thinking she struggled with what she heard. I am thinking she wanted to believe; perhaps she even wanted to follow Him. I am thinking Pilate a long time before now wishes he had listened to his wife.

What do you think?
