Light Bulb

The Sweet Side of Suffering. That’s my newest read. The Author is M. Esther Lovejoy and she has given me a new insight.

How many times have you heard this verse quoted?:

3 O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.

via Psalm 34:2-4 KJV;CJB – My soul shall make her boast in the – Bible Gateway.

Magnify.

Doesn’t that mean make larger?  Like:

1. To make greater in size; enlarge.
2. To cause to appear greater or seem more important than is in fact the case; exaggerate
3. To increase the apparent size of, especially by means of a lens. via magnify – definition of magnify by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.

Now I can tell you right now that definition as presented just did not fit well with me, not for the GOD I know. And so I had just kind of tabled that — until now.

M. Esther Lovejoy wrote:

“We are often encouraged in Scripture to “magnify the Lord.” I have thought a lot recently about what that word means. In its most practical use, magnify means to view something, usually through a lens, in a way that allows us to see it more clearly and in greater detail.”

And the light bulb came on!

We magnify the LORD when we come to see Him more clearly, to see Him in greater detail. This magnification comes through the LENS of His Word, His Creation, the tutoring of the HOLY SPIRIT. We magnify Him when we are attentive to Him, when we allow Him to correct our vision of Him. And when we see Him in greater detail, see Him more clearly, we will not hold back exalting Him!  Oh yes let us magnify the LORD together!

Thank You, ABBA, for fresh insight! For enlightening us; oh yes, LORD, be magnified in our eyes that our mouths will give You praise.

I Don’t Deserve This

Someone said I don’t deserve this. Many someones have said that. I have said that. Perhaps you are one of those someones.  And perhaps we are right. And perhaps not.

The Grace of God.

For sure we do not deserve the grace of God. But we have it. Each day, each night we continue to breathe we have received the grace of God. Many things in our lives we do not deserve but by His grace we have them. Many more than we have begun to count.

Ephesians 2:8 For you have been delivered by grace through trusting, and even this is not your accomplishment but God’s gift.

via Ephesians 2:8 CJB – For you have been delivered by grace – Bible Gateway.

For a listing of grace references in the Old and New Testaments, click HERE. You will find 288 of them.

Now lets turn that coin over.

It is certainly true that pain, illness, disease and losses come and we did nothing to cause them. (See John 9:2-4)  A diagnosis;  a senseless death of one we love; a break in, treasured possessions – gone! Or a spouse who has taken their intimacy and shared it with another. Does the Betrayed One deserve that? No way! When the Betrayed One puts the Betrayer out the door does the Betrayer deserve that? Absolutely yes! That’s an earned consequence.

Lets say the Betrayed One, with eyes wide opened, continues in the multiple relationship, does the Betrayed One deserve the ensuing fall-out? It comes down to fear, doesn’t it? We fear the consequences of taking a courageous stand, don’t we? When we bow to fear and we refuse to live in righteousness, can we really say we have not earned what comes?

. . .  then choose today whom you are going to serve! . . .

via Joshua 24:14-16 KJV;CJB – Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve – Bible Gateway.

I am as guilty as the next.  Sure I do pretty good on a computer screen but what about face to face or phone to phone? Not so good. So today I am so grateful for grace and grateful that when I get what I deserve for my lack of boldness, it is my hope that the consequences thereof will strengthen me to learn to stand for truth even when I am afraid.

This hasn’t turn out like I thought when I started. In truth, my Friends, this offering started with me seeing the error of others who have refused to do right and have not ceased to wail and bitterly complain the consequences of their disobedience; but I have here at the last seen my own cowardice. This I know: tough love is hard to give; no, it is IMPOSSIBLE to give without surrendering to the power of the HOLY SPIRIT within and HE alone is wise enough, and love enough to guide us.  Oh I want to learn to live holy – whatever the cost! It will take practice, won’t it?

ABBA, this is a hard lesson to hear; even harder to do; but I pray we will; that we will take it to heart and walk it out in this life with holy love and boldness for YESHUA’s name sake.

Oh, That’s Just . . .

The News Personality said: ” Oh that’s just Joe.”  And immediately a phrase from Scripture came to mind: “from the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”

Listen. Listen for a while. And when you hear a similar stream of nouns, verbs and adjectives come from one’s mouth, then you should take note of this Scripture and know his/her verbiage is coming from within — the overflow from his/her heart.

Luke 6:44 Each tree is recognized by its own fruit — figs aren’t picked from thorn bushes, nor grapes from a briar patch. 45 The good person produces good things from the store of good in his heart, while the evil person produces evil things from the store of evil in his heart. For his mouth speaks what overflows from his heart.
46 “Why do you call me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ but not do what I say?

via Luke 6:44-46 KJV;CJB – For every tree is known by his own – Bible Gateway.

The implication that I gathered from the News Spokesperson was ‘don’t be so critical, don’t critique what Joe says, don’t take his words so seriously.’

There’s a lesson I want to learn here, perhaps you do too.

I want you to take my words seriously. I want you to be able to take my words to the bank, cash the check and be richer for having heard my words. I want to be known as a person who says what she means and means what she says and I want my words to honor Jesus and bless you. And I want this to be constant. I hope no one ever says of me: ” Oh, that’s just Kathie.”

No, let it be ‘Oh, that Kathie, she speaks JESUS’.

For his mouth speaks what overflows from his heart.

Well, Friends. It’s Friday. The weekend is upon us. Yeah!! So enjoy. Plan something relaxing, something fun, something good, something helpful and crown the weekend with worship particularly on Sunday be intentional and seat yourself in a Sunday School class and stay for preaching! :)

Day 122 of 2014, praying for revival in the Body of CHRIST.

ABBA, thank You. Thank You for this message.  And I pray to practice it well. Britton has come to mind and I am asking You to intervene in his medical care, to enlighten the doctors, to find the cause of his fever and infection; to not only find the cause but the cure. I pray You will heal this little boy. Thank You for this National Day of Prayer that is nearly spent. I am grateful for every prayer that was offered to You today for this Nation. HOLY SPIRIT, please call us to keep on praying for America. I get highly charged, ABBA, when I think about our condition. I get highly charged when I think about the corruption, the injustice, the lies, the fraud, the debauchery that goes on day after day in Washington and from shore to shore. I am so sorry. And without You to speak to me, correct me and help me I will surely despair under it all. I long for the day when YESHUA will return as King and rule this place and until then I invite You to help me be a part of the solution and not a party to the corruption. I pray for holy boldness to speak Your Truth; to offer Your Gospel every where I am every day and I pray souls will hear, will believe and be saved.  Thank You, ABBA, in JESUS name.
