Day 28

Pottery Pieces. 405020611_702087615229606_7644125551342407495_n

I collect them — useable ones, not just for display.
I am thankful for the pieces I have. I am thankful for people who are skilled in crafting them and that I am privileged to purchase them.  And I am especially thankful for the people who have gifted me with pieces of pottery.

Above and beyond this I am thankful to BE clay in the Hand of THE GREAT POTTER.

(8) But now, Adonai, you are our father;  we are the clay, you are our potter; and we are all the work of your hands.   source Isaiah 64 potter

Not Long Enough

Day 26

I am thankful today that this short-term earthly life is not the end.
These short and fleeting years are not nearly a long enough time to love family and friends.  These years are not nearly long enough a time to talk and laugh and plan with brothers and sisters and nieces, nephews, daughters and sons and grands and great-grands.

Have you seen this on the sidebar of this blog?
We don’t live like we believe this I think.

Alas, we cannot deny that these bodies as they are, do not live forever.
They get old.
They wear out. They cease to take us where we want to go as comfortably or as fast as we want to be there.

So what about us does go on and on without end?
Do you know? Do you give it much thought?

The older I get the more I think about what’s coming next; about saying goodbye to this body of flesh that I reside in for now. And not just me but others, brothers and sisters and nieces, nephews, daughters and sons and grands and great-grands.  And there is one thing I want for us all.

I have to ask are you living in the truth?
