Let her Rejoice

Image crafted at YouVersion

And what does it take for a Mother to rejoice over her children? For me, another verse of Scripture comes to mind to complement our featured verse for today.
3 John 1:4
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.

Mothers and Daddies have reason to be glad when their children walk in the Truth of GOD; when they make godly choices, when they reverence The LORD GOD, when they are marked with humility and kindness, when they come hold our hands as we age.
I have many reasons to rejoice: daughters, sons-in-love, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. I am glad! ♥

So, the message to children of all ages is let your father and mother be glad, give them reasons to be glad, walk in Truth, GOD’s Truth. And for those of us whose parents have escaped this mortal life and have entered GOD’s Paradise, we can continue to honor them by walking in GOD’s Truth until we see them again.

Today is my firstborn’s birthday. She has given me many reasons to rejoice.

Children

Quickly.
Two verses this morning. Both were penned by John.  Both speak of Truth.
Truth.
How important is it?  And how important is it to pray for Truth for our children?

4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.  3 John

6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.  John 14

See what I mean?
JESUS is Truth.  And of all the things we want for our children and ourselves it is to Walk with HIM, right?

Something to ponder . . . until next time, Holy hugs, Kathie

Not Long Enough

Day 26

I am thankful today that this short-term earthly life is not the end.
These short and fleeting years are not nearly a long enough time to love family and friends.  These years are not nearly long enough a time to talk and laugh and plan with brothers and sisters and nieces, nephews, daughters and sons and grands and great-grands.

Have you seen this on the sidebar of this blog?
We don’t live like we believe this I think.

Alas, we cannot deny that these bodies as they are, do not live forever.
They get old.
They wear out. They cease to take us where we want to go as comfortably or as fast as we want to be there.

So what about us does go on and on without end?
Do you know? Do you give it much thought?

The older I get the more I think about what’s coming next; about saying goodbye to this body of flesh that I reside in for now. And not just me but others, brothers and sisters and nieces, nephews, daughters and sons and grands and great-grands.  And there is one thing I want for us all.

3 John 4 Nothing gives me greater joy than hearing that my children are living in the truth.  source

I have to ask are you living in the truth?
