High Noon

I have a special thanks today.
I remember the day. It was a Sunday, at Noon.
My Baby Girl opened her eyes to the light of day and let out a glorious cry!
Red hair, blue eyes, chubby cheeks, ten toes, ten fingers, and an answer to my prayers.

To this day she remains an Oasis to my soul.

Talented, gifted, smart, discerning, caring, beautiful, and likely the most thankful person I know on the planet.

Yes. I am giving thanks daily for a little bundle of joy named from Luke 24:50.

The carrot cake is on its way. :)

New to me People

It’s a quiet, cloudy day here in LA.
Football commentary is streaming from the other room and JT is waiting for the real game to come on :) so I thought I’d say hello.
At this moment I don’t feel talkative — hard to believe, I know.  And it could change. :)

This week has slipped right by with much praying, some reading, and some video watching.
I’ve even found some new-to-me people to watch this week as well as some long-standing favorites.
Presently we have abundant sources from which to gather information. I endeavor to spend more time listening to Biblical messages than other forms of information available at my fingertips.  I wonder how much time we have left to make these voluminous watching/listening decisions.

Unpopular as it may be, with Scripture in view and world events popping, I and others are urging this: let us get our houses in order.

Scripture has heretofore not been so easily understood as It is today.
The unfolding of events foretold in Revelation is no longer a mystery.
It’s here. The means and ways are here in place — we are waiting.
And because we are waiting, some are sounding alarms. I am grateful for that.
I confess for me, it is hard to watch the apathy.
It’s hard to watch what speaks of seared consciences.

And as I sit with keyboard, viewing trees and beauty from my library window all looks right with the world; but I know nothing is right with the world.
And the wrong with the world is advancing rapidly.

But it’s not all bad news. Really it’s not.

But what of unrepentant sinners?
And this is why we pray. And this is why we warn.

It’s not.
Ask the Apostle Paul.  Click HERE.
You see ALL who have been born from above came to that rebirth on their own Damascus Road with JESUS.
I urge you to lean in with GOD and allow your mind to revisit your Damascus Road.
See if you really are IN THE FAITH.

Hurry

July 6 already!

Always in a hurry. Hurry rarely comes from GOD.
I know about hurry. Hurry and I are well acquainted. We are too acquainted. I am praying for distance from hurry.

I can think of only one time YESHUA told someone to hurry.
Do you know who?

Just this one time I remember Him saying hurry.  Hurry and come down.
It is good for us to HURRY to JESUS.  To make haste. To hurry to JESUS in repentance.  Like immediately when sin raises its ugly self and we see it poised to take hold, make haste and run to JESUS for help. Help to repent. Help to live free!

It is good for us to hurry to JESUS, but when we get to Him, stay and walk with Him timely – walk as slow as He leads; let us take in all He says to us.

Hurry is almost always a waste, except when it is running to JESUS.

Three Score and Ten

Luke 9.

Are you ready?

23 Then to everyone he said, “If anyone wants to come after me, let him say ‘No’ to himself, take up his execution-stake (cross) daily and keep following me.
24 For whoever tries to save his own life will destroy it, but whoever destroys his life on my account will save it.  source

Death.
There are various ways to die and most of those ways will kill you, all but one.

Interested?

What was Yeshua saying in these verses?
May I give you my KWT paraphrase? My understanding of it?

Verses 23 and 24 tell me that all people, myself included, who want to LIVE must die. We must die to doing this earthly Three Score and Ten our way; our carnal, depraved human nature way.

If we want to live, really live here on planet earth and in eternity there is a decision that we must make now.

let him say ‘No’ to himself, take up his execution-stake (cross) daily, and keep following me.

If we hold on to our lives, if we refuse to surrender our day-to-day breathing in and out to The Messiah, we are going to die, not just once, but for eternity.
GOD does not lie.

In the natural, we humans like to make our own decisions without any input from GOD.
i.e. We SAVE our lives for ourselves.

How do we save our lives for ourselves?
Let me be blunt.

We eat what we want.
We drink what we want.
We copulate with who we want.
We hate who we want.
We refuse to forgive who we want.
We take what we want even if we have not earned it.
We withhold truth and we put forth untruths.
And the list goes on  — the list is as long as there are sins to commit.

Doing our own thing, living this earthly life as we please will, yes indeed, will destroy us.
It will destroy our body and soul in the here and now and march us right into hell when we draw our last breath.

So what are we to do?
How do we destroy our lives for JESUS sake? Verse 24

First, when Holy Spirit tells us we are hell-deserving sinners and we need a Saviour, we don’t argue with Him, we agree. We humbly and gratefully give thanks that He would even let us know that we need a Saviour and there is ONE ready, willing, and able to save us! From ourselves, from sin, and from hell.

Does that mean we will never do some of those things listed above and many of those not listed?

NOPE!
But it does mean we will immensely enjoy saying NO to those things, more and more, day by day as we learn from and follow JESUS.
And one day when we see JESUS Face to face we will never have to fight sin again.

We will be free for all eternity.

If that appeals to you — excellent! You are on your way.
If it doesn’t, I fear you have not yet met this JESUS who loves you enough to live and die and live forever for you.
Holy Spirit, please favor those who are presently saving their lives for themselves, with conviction, grace, and faith to be saved from self-destruction.  Amen and amen.

We were made for this,
