"Jesus knows how powerless rejection
makes a person feel."Beth Moore. The Quest.Page 119.
So what do we do when we are rejected?
Matthew 10: (HCSB) 14 If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that house or town. source
How do we do that? Perhaps each of us would seek the LORD, asking Him what He meant when He spoke these words.
I have a start for me.
He said shake the dust off your feet. If you will, picture with me a prisoner of old. What does he have attached to his ankles? Chains. What do chains do? They shackle us. They impede our walk.
Could JESUS be saying pick up your feet, shake off that chain of rejection and keep on walking with ME? Could He be saying to us: Let it go. Let them off the hook. Break that chain of torment; release them from the shackle of you owe me and pray for them. Pray they come see that JESUS takes such rejection personally. Pray they receive the gracious gift of repentance and forgiveness before time escapes.
We don’t have to be shackled to unforgiveness. We can kick up some dust and shake it off! We can pray for mercy. We can hold our peace, pray and wait for the HOLY ONE to work a miracle on that house and on that town.
2 Timothy 3:12 (HCSB)12 In fact, all those who want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.source
From my study time today I must ask myself, how’s my persecution level? And from whence does it come? A reading of Matthew 10 reveals the Disciples’ persecutors. See it HERE.
Who of us just craves persecution? Not me either. Even so I am compelled to mark the differences betweenMatthew 10and today. Perhaps you would read and mark the contrasts you see. Particularly, take a close look atverses 5-8. Yeah! I’m asking that too. What happened?
I would wait and post this for tomorrow but it’s too good to keep to myself even for another day! :)
And they were astounded at His teaching!
Me too! That I could be so privileged to be taught!
31 But concerning the resurrection of the dead, haven’t you read what was spoken to you by God, saying, 32 ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living!”33 When the crowds heard this, they were astounded at His teaching.Matthew 22 TLV source.
Look what He told them! He told them that Abraham, Issac and Jacob were ALIVE! Alive y’all!
Let that settle over you and in you. Let the HOLY SPIRIT of THIS GOD OF THE LIVING talk to you about LIVING!
We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
