Having recently begun again riding a bicycle, this one speaks to me; perhaps it will to you too. Your continued prayers for me are coveted!

Strength to Pedal
Riding my bicycle through the hills around my home has provided many hours of enjoyment. The hard work of pedaling up the hills is rewarded by the fun of flying downhill with little effort. When I reach the bottom, however, I must begin with renewed energy to tackle the next climb. If I coast until the bike slows down, it’s harder to regain momentum.
When life is easy, I sometimes forget that hard times may lie ahead. I should be ready to start with renewed strength so I have enough energy to get me to the top. God gives me assurance that He will help me up the next hill too.
You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised.(Hebrews 10:36 NIV).
Thank You, God, for helping me gain momentum on the “down-hills” of life to help me up the next climb. Give me strength when the hill becomes long and hard. Amen.

A Half-Baked Life
Trying a new recipe for a cake turned into a disaster. After it was baked and cooled, it looked good, but when it was cut open, it lost its attraction. The inside was a mass of heavy, soggy dough. I hadn’t baked it long enough.
Unless I live according to God’s direction each day, I am not fully ready to serve the purpose He has for me. What it looks like on the outside isn’t necessarily what it is on the inside until He has total control over me.
My people mingle with the heathen, picking up their evil-ways; thus they become as good-for-nothing as a half-baked cake. (Hos. 7:8 LB)
Lord, help me to “bake” evenly so the inside is as good as the outside looks. Thank You for living in me. Amen.
If it seems right to you as an IDOK to adopt IDOP, I so encourage you to do so. What is IDOP? This link will explain. And while you are there check out stories of the persecuted Christians around the world. I am moved to prayer. Could it be that we IDOKs would adopt Wednesdays as our day to visit the NewsRoom and pray over each story written there? I’m making a calendar note, complete with an email notice, to remind me that Wednesdays are NewsRoom prayer day. I hope you will do something similar.
Sweet blessings to you all on this busy and eventful Wednesday!
We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
