Rise with the Dawn

Just a quick pop-in to say hello.
It’s cold where I am. I’ve had cold feet all day.

So, y’all stay warm. tenor

Luke 21

This is our reading for today.
If you have not read it yet, I invite you to use the link above to read it.

It’s an up-to-date chapter – some things have already happened and others are yet to be.

Here’s some counsel we must not miss:

34 “But keep watch on yourselves, or your hearts will become dulled by carousing, drunkenness and the worries of everyday living, and that Day will be sprung upon you suddenly like a trap!
35 For it will close in on everyone, no matter where they live, throughout the whole world.
36 Stay alert, always praying that you will have the strength to escape all the things that will happen and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man.”  source

Read it again. We can’t take it all in, in one read.

And then look what JESUS did as He was closing in on the end of His First Coming.

37 Yeshua spent his days at the Temple, teaching; while at night he went out and stayed on the hill called the Mount of Olives.
38 All the people would rise with the dawn to come and hear him at the Temple courts.   source

They would rise with the dawn to come and hear Him.

Father, I pray these words will particularly speak as our Readers come to read. Amen and amen. Be Thou Glorified O LORD.

Go After It!

Luke 17

I have not much to say about Luke 17 today because I have more questions than answers.
I have done what I suggest you do when you read Scripture and have few to no answers but questions instead: take those questions to GOD. Write them down, keep reading, and wait for His answers.

And you may have to do what I have done: “LORD, I don’t understand this passage so good and previous things I have been taught crop up here, but I want to know The Truth even if I don’t like it.”

Albeit, I know this from the first verse — life here is not ‘rosie’ and there are people here who actually set snares for other people. We must be on guard – not to retaliate but to be ready so that we don’t step into the snare.
HOLY SPIRIT is here to help us with that.

And I gather from verse 9 that we are healthier if we come to terms and agreement with this: “We’re just ordinary slaves, we have only done our duty.” as we serve The LORD and as we patiently endure the sufferings He allows to come upon us.

I have found it enormously helpful to remember: GOD is ALWAYS good and we (His Children) are ALWAYS loved.

There is much more in Chapter 17go after it Brothers and Sisters!

A World of People

This is what I see.

I see a world of people busy doing nothing that amounts to anything for the Kingdom of GOD or their own or their children’s eternal life benefit.

I see people racing around, snapping and yelling at each other; too busy for even a kind word.

I see people so wrapped around themselves that there is rarely a thought outside the parameters of ‘and how does this affect me?’

I see people lost as hell with no concern and no interest in getting off that broad road to destruction.

And then I see people with a form of godliness, a pretense that they know Him but there is no evidence in their day-to-day activity that indicates the Power of GOD to overcome even a bad attitude.

I see a world of people in darkness pretending to be celebrating all this month the birth of The LIGHT of The World, yet they have no concept of Him, no love for Him, and no obedience to Him.

This is the world we live in — utter darkness with very few lampstands trimmed and ready.
BUT PRAISE GOD for those that are!!

It’s hard seeing this day after day, BUT GOD still saves even one that will open their eyes and bow their will to THE GOD who is willing and able to forgive them and deliver them from this utter darkness.
