The Victorious

First out of bed and before my coffee I was praying. Praying for some of those unspoken specifics listed at PFT. Click HERE to go there.

And then I read my Journey. Some of the very words I had written to ABBA were there on the page; the very circumstance was there on the page.  HE cares, He is listening. Oh, that we would learn to listen.

He speaks to us.

But often we do not hear. We hear not because we are dull of hearing. We are dull of hearing because we have talked, railed, complained and moaned for so long without listening. Without reading His Word, without obeying His Word.

But this is not so with the victorious. They have troubles. They have circumstances abundantly adverse and yet they are not defeated.

Why?

Because they listen. They seek to hear Him. They seek to obey Him.

There is someone close, very close who demonstrates this to me.  When she is assailed with her own flesh or the wicked enemy, she goes to ABBA, not to rail and complain and moan but to listen. She puts the opposition to silence (even her own flesh) by picking up her Bible and opening it for ABBA’s voice. She says He never fails to speak when she shuts up to listen and obey.

My earthly father’s favorite song was Trust and Obey – for there’s no other way to be happy in JESUS but to trust and obey.

Trust and obey. Said another way – Learning to Listen.

Isaiah 30: 21 Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left.
via Isaiah 30 – Passage Lookup – New American Standard Bible – BibleGateway.com.

And when you are blessed enough to hear, let not fickle, unfaithful emotions turn you from what you have heard.  WALK what you heard.

Joyce Meyer said something like this: You have to DO what is RIGHT even when doing what is right still FEELS Wrong.

Isaiah 30:15 For thus the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, has said, “In repentance and rest you will be saved, In quietness and trust is your strength.” But you were not willing, via Isaiah 30 – Passage Lookup – New American Standard Bible – BibleGateway.com.

Lips of my Mind

I have heard Joyce Meyer say when I am disappointed I must get re-appointed.

And disappointment, the state of being disappointed has been a prevalent theme in my meditations lately. And  when I read I Peter 2:1 this morning, the HOLY SPIRIT surprised me.

May I share it with you?

1 Peter 2  New American Standard Bible (NASB)
1 Therefore, putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander,

And there I stopped with the word slander as He began to teach me a new understanding of disappointed.

Slander. What does slander have to do with being disappointed? I didn’t much at first like what He had to say but I see it now and I’m grateful.

You see slander has been to me something done openly, broadcasted for any one in earshot to hear. And I am not negating that – it still is. But this morning it is something more. It’s turning those things he/she does or does not do to meet my satisfaction over and over in my head and imagining their motives in the doing or not doing.  As if I could know their motives! And the more I ‘slander’ them within the walls of my mind, the more disappointed I am in them.

Ouch! and Thank you, ABBA.

But He was not done yet.

2 like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation,
3 if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.
via I peter 2 – Passage Lookup – New American Standard Bible – BibleGateway.com.

Oh, desiring the Word. And having tasted the kindness of the Lord.  Have I ever tasted His kindness! His kindnesses have been lavished upon me — every moment I breathe.  You too?

And then the final — the icing on the cake.

6  . . .

AND HE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.”

via I peter 2 – Passage Lookup – New American Standard Bible – BibleGateway.com.

There was that word: DISAPPOINTED!

Steadfast looking at my JESUS, keeping the Sweet Taste of Him on the ‘lips of my mind’ will keep me from slandering within and will mightily address my disappointments.

Thank you for stopping by — hope you were not disappointed. :)

Thank You, ABBA, for this Word this morning, You know I needed it! And I trust that others who need it will be exercised by it also. Thank You for hearing our prayers for others. There are many.  Thank You for answering us.  Amen and amen in JESUS Name.

I have brought these names before the LORD; hope you will as well. Click HERE for PFT.

Aslan

Oh my goodness! I have missed you all!!

Summer is really on with high temps and activities with GRANDS.

And one of those activities is reading together The Silver Chair by C. S. Lewis. (Library of Congress Catalog Card Number: 2004113555. ISBN 0-06-076493-7)
Click HERE for more information and a source to purchase.

Lewis’ Narnia books, in my opinion, are the best children’s fantasy books to be found. And I can sum up in one word why I say that: Aslan. Other children’s fantasy books have been written but they contain no Aslan and without Aslan — well, without Aslan, what’s the point? Fantasy, sorcery, magic, etc. etc. without the redeeming presence of Aslan dangles forbidden fruit before their eager eyes; potentially blinding them to the chasm between the holy and unholy.

May I give you a glimpse of Aslan? I so dearly love Him.

Chapter Two opens with Jill, she’s alone as Eustace has been blown away – not to worry, not with a gun but breath. And I’ll not tell you more on that here.

Jill. Jill is alone and thirsty. Very thirsty. And she hears the sound of water.

Enjoy an excerpt with me.

“Are you not thirsty?” said the Lion.

“I’m dying of thirst, ” said Jill.

“Then drink,” said the Lion.

“May I–could I–would you mind going away while I do?” said Jill.

The Lion answered this only by a look and a very low growl. And as Jill gazed at its motionless bulk, she realized that she might as well have asked the whole mountain to move aside for her convenience.

The delicious rippling noise of the stream was driving her nearly frantic.

“Will you promise not to–do anything to me, if I do come?” said Jill.

“I make no promise,” said the Lion.

Jill was so thirsty now that, without noticing it, she had come a step nearer.

Jill continues to decline His offer of water and He tells her if she does not drink, she will die. She suggests that she will seek another stream. The Lion tells her there is no other stream. Let’s pick up again.

It never occurred to Jill to disbelieve the Lion–no one who had seen his stern face could do that–and her mind suddenly made itself up. It was the worst thing she had ever had to do, but she went forward to the stream, knelt down, and began scooping up water in her hand. It was the coldest, most refreshing water she had ever tasted.

JESUS, the Lion of the tribe of Judah indeed HE does give the most refreshing of all water!! And indeed kneeling before Him to receive His Eternal Water begins as the most dreadful moment of one’s life and then turns to the most refreshing, most wonderful one!!

Jill and the Lion continue to talk.  She was open and honest with Him about how she had arrived at being alone and He said:

“That is a very good answer, Human Child. Do so no more. . . . .”

Reminds me of what JESUS said to the woman:

John 8:    21st Century King James Version (KJ21)

11 She said, “No man, Lord.” And Jesus said unto her, “Neither do I condemn thee; go, and sin no more.”

via John 8:11 – Passage Lookup – 21st Century King James Version – BibleGateway.com.

And I so love this line given by the Lion:

“You would not have called to me unless I had been calling to you,” said the Lion.

‘Then you are Somebody, Sir?” said Jill.

“I am. . . . .”

The Lion gives her a task. He gives her specific instructions and He tells her to meditate upon them and to not allow them to leave her mind.

Need I say that I am well excited to read to my GRANDS?

Dear Friends be encouraged today. The Lion of the Tribe of Judah, the I AM has Water for you today. He has specific instructions for you today and His very breath will carry you wherever you need to go today.
