We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of it. BUT this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
What are those? Do you mean those things you want to accomplish within a specific time? Those things you head to the other room to do and on the way there the dryer sounds that the permanent press clothes are done which will surely wrinkle if you don’t get them out right now so you make a quick turn to the left and soon you have forgotten why you were headed down the hall in the first place? Those kinds of goals?
And you say we are supposed to follow through with these specific goals by saying no to other things. So that’s how that works.
There is a line from the movie Loving Leah. One of my favorites.
“A mother is only as happy as her saddest child.”
For me, that extends to my grands, and now my great-grands. Anything that threatens their well-being sends me to my knees in prayer on their behalf and my own that I will faithfully trust His goodness and love for them and for me.
If you would like to watch the movie Loving Leah you may find it on Amazon Prime and even on Youtube.
If you want the help of GOD, you may find Him in the pages of Scripture. I hope you will seek Him with all your heart. Otherwise, there is MUCH to be anxious about and that’s not a movie with a happy ending.
Isaiah 55:6-7 New Living Translation 6 Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near. 7 Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously. source
P.S. the movie . . . is it theologically correct? No, but that doesn’t take away (for me) the wholesome romance.
But I learned better from a Little Black Book that some opine is full of fables and myths. Albeit some of the characters in The Book with a leather cover were extremely superstitious – life didn’t end well for them.
Not a thing. Just goes well with my first name so my Momma could go to the back door and summoned me with urgent authority.
Thanks, WordPress for the prompt. It gave me a remembering smile. I miss my sweet momma but because of JESUS and His Sacrifice and our acceptance of His Substitutionary death and His Resurrection for us, I will see her again.
Kathie Ann — It does have a nice ring to it, especially when spoken by people who love me.
What a good question for pondering but it only took a nanosecond for me to say just a better me. Better as in Kinder, wiser, more helpful, and doing more good for others.
But to be someone else for a day. Nah!
You see when we look at the lives of others we don’t see what really is. We don’t see what goes on when the doors are closed and they lay their heads to sleep. We don’t see the internal struggles. We don’t KNOW that their lives are richer and more fulfilling than ours.
So me. I’ll stick with me – the me Jesus is transforming me to be. Because He never fails.
