Shame

IDOK DEVOTION FOR TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13, 2009

Sometime in the morning hours before dawn something was going on it my head, not really a dream; a conversation maybe, and Scripture too. Something about hiding what we are ashamed for others to see. And something about the comfort of knowing that it is not our outward appearance at which ABBA looks, but our hearts. I Samuel 16: . . . for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

Admittedly, there are things about this frame of mine that I hide; why else would I try on 3 changes of clothes before I finally leave the house? And I suspect I am not the only one. I suspect that we all have things we’d like to hide from the view of others. And you know in some cases that’s not wrong – some things need to be hidden! In fact I would like to see our young ladies hide a lot more ‘stuff’ than they do! Please do not miss-read me here, there is nothing shameful about our anatomies, unless we take what is designed for exclusion and present it for public viewing. A mind to do less ‘advertising’ would indicate the young lady was a little more aware of her great value; but that’s another ‘sermon’.

Sometime shame is appropriate. Sometimes shame lets us know that something is wrong and changes need to be made. Genesis 3: 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.

Now with Adam and Eve the changes they made were not sufficient; more was needed. So Father in His enormous love and mercy sought them out and made the proper change available to them. And they accepted.

So! When ‘shame’ shows up, wisdom says we need to perk up and question why. Why am I feeling ashamed? Have I sinned? Am I about to sin? Where is this shame coming from? Is it appropriate? Is it alerting me that I need to change course? Is it old? Have I been feeling this way a long time? Is it new? Just when did this start? Am I in violation of Scripture when I participate in these thoughts or this conduct? Do I need to talk to someone?

Proverbs 19:

20 Listen to counsel and receive instruction,

That you may be wise in your latter days.

21 There are many plans in a man’s heart,

Nevertheless the LORD’s counsel—that will stand.

Shame. For Adam and Eve it made them ready to receive God’s provision of forgiveness. For us, if we have already forsaken the conduct and accepted His forgiveness and shame is still hanging around, then we can know Satan has picked it up and is using it against us. Send him ‘packing’ today! I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Praise Reports and Prayer Requests

Vicki is home and doing well after surgery; thank you for your prayers.

Shame, a gift and a curse I guess we could say, depending upon its source; I pray we will learn to easily recognize the origin of the shame we experience and that we will come to You early, ABBA, to accept Your forgiveness and cleansing and cease to live in shame. I pray You will do all that You desire with this message. Thank You for another day to live right; may we do it. And we pray now for our list of people, some are improving and we are so grateful; some are still facing the enemy of disease and we pray for their courage and victory. We pray for our IDOK Troops to again be protected in spirit, soul and body today. And I pray for each IDOK and each Reader that today will be a shame-free day because we have seen all our iniquities laid upon You, Lord Jesus. We pray for faithful eyes to see You, LORD, the Author and Finisher of our faith. Amen and amen.

Expressing Myself

IDOK DEVOTION FOR MONDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2009

Well, this afternoon which by the way is Friday (the 9th) I have been expressing myself to ABBA about a certain someone who has been given the Nobel Peace Prize and for what I do not know – must have been his first 12 days in the Oval Office; as a Fox writer opined (my paraphrase): partying, skipping Church and giving away borrowed money so women in other countries could abort their babies. If I had been writing it, I would have said ‘murder their babies’, but be that as it may; you get my drift. I am again not happy with the Washington wanna be Potentate. And as I said I was expressing myself to ABBA about it; better HIM than you, huh? Anyway, after some of that, I decided I better do some Bible reading. My prescribed reading for today is still in the book of Jeremiah.

Jeremiah 32:

17 ‘Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.

18 You show lovingkindness to thousands, and repay the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them—the Great, the Mighty God, whose name is the LORD of hosts.

19 You are great in counsel and mighty in work, for Your eyes are open to all the ways of the sons of men, to give everyone according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings.

I think I get it – again. Psalm 37

1 Do not fret because of evildoers,

Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.

3 Trust in the LORD, and do good;

Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.

Okay, so I have heard the news now and have spouted off about it; move on … FEED on the faithfulness of my GOD, not on the carnality of man. I am learning – carnality of man was not my first choice of words. :-) Okay, back to my reading now and sweet blessings to you all today (Monday).

Praise Reports and Prayer Requests

ABBA, I am so glad You have all knowledge and all power and that You are in every place. Thank You. And thank You for life and family and friends and ministry. I pray now for our IDOKs, for each of them to have peace of mind, steady hands and sure feet today as they maneuver this day. I pray we will FEED on Your faithfulness to us today rather than anything else we could feed on. I pray we will dwell in the land of today, not fret over yesterday or fear tomorrow. We bring again each situation and each name written here. I pray for pending surgeries and loved ones to have them. I pray for textbook perfect results and for a complete healing of the body. And not just bodies for healing but spirits and souls too. I am mindful of a number of souls that are sick in sin and grief and I pray they too will be healed. And thank You, ABBA, for healthy relationships, what a blessing they are to us, help us do our part to keep them healthy. We pray for our IDOK Troops for their protection and safe keeping and safe returns home. And LORD, whatever we do today, keep us close, don’t let us wander from remembering and recounting to ourselves Your faithfulness. And it is because of Jesus I ask. Amen and amen.

White Horses

IDOK DEVOTION FOR FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2009

Those little interruptions that are like a grain of sand in your tennis shoes can quickly become precious memories – enjoy them early!

White Horses

I have this song playing in my head this morning and now for you via YouTube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWSATpx7uzk&feature=related

The Days of Elijah – There’s no god like Jehovah.

A prophecy of His First Coming: This one we have seen with the eyes of faith.

Zechariah 9:9 “ Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!

Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem!

Behold, your King is coming to you;

He is just and having salvation,

Lowly and riding on a donkey,

A colt, the foal of a donkey.

A prophecy of His Second Coming: This one we see with eyes of faith as well BUT when we mount these horses following Him our faith will have become sight!

Revelation 19:11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.

12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself.

13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.

14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.

15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:

KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

And we say, Even So, Come, LORD JESUS! But until then:

John 4: 34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.

35 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!

36 And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.

Now don’t that get your weekend started?!

Praise Reports and Prayer Requests

Roy still has an infection and has been running fever. It has gone into his neck and shoulder, too. He is also nauseous a lot and has gotten dehydrated. Julee took him to MDA in Houston during the night Wednesday. They gave Roy an IV with antibiotic. Julee said the hospital is packed and they don’t even have a real room for him yet and they are in a room in the ER. She said even the parking garages are full and she had to park on top of the 2nd building. Please pray for Roy and Julee

Kathie, Jerry, please pray. My brother Rudon was told yesterday he had cancer and was to see the cancer dr. Thursday, 16th. Mirlean says it is serious and I am asking you to send this to all of your IDOKs. We love you as always, Roye.

ABBA, I am finding it a challenge to go from riding on a cloud to Roy and Julee in a hospital ER and Rudon with cancer. Only You can reconcile these extremes in our emotions. We long to ride those white horses; I long for the day when You will rule this planet in Your Flesh and Bone Body from Your Throne in Jerusalem. I long for the day when Your Peace will be the Rule here; when sin will not praised and strutted in the streets. Oh, I long for those days when the earth will be ‘garden of Eden’ all over the planet but until then, Holy Spirit, please put me to good use in the here and now. My words are still failing me for Roy and Julee and Rudon and all these listed here, but I am picturing You, LORD, being moved with compassion upon them; You, LORD, in hospital rooms with them; You, LORD, in every place they are undergirding and giving strength and yes even in the strangest of times giving laughter. You are so gracious to give us this ministry; thank You. Please again today protect our IDOK Troops; please again today have mercy on America and pour out lavish conviction and grace and space to repent. Please again today give Your Bride a holy desire to be faithful to You; please again today give open doors and anointing to Your Saints carrying the Gospel to people ready to hear and this I ask in the Matchless, Eternal Name of Yeshua. Amen and amen.

We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
