Fear Not

9/11/2001 – 12 years ago.

Shocked and afraid. All we could think to do was pray. We did. And He heard.

Today.

I’m not so shocked.

Afraid? If I let myself – I am much afraid. I am told that not less than 365 times Father said do not be afraid. Surely He means it. So for a few moments, I have been reviewing some of those ‘fear not’ Scriptures.

Do you recall the story of Joseph? Sold into slavery by his brothers; redeemed by the GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; elevated to second in command of all Egypt. And then his brothers went looking for bread. They found more than bread; they found grace. They found a ‘fear not’. How? Why? Look for yourselves. See Joseph choosing to be NOT in the place of GOD.

Genesis 50:18-20 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

18 and his brothers too came, prostrated themselves before him and said, “Here, we are your slaves.”

19 But Yosef said to them, “Don’t be afraid! Am I in the place of God?

20 You meant to do me harm, but God meant it for good — so that it would come about as it is today, with many people’s lives being saved.

Let all the men, women, and children of this world individually choose as Joseph did to be NOT their own GOD and surrender to the GOD of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and YESHUA; with that, our reasons for fear would all but disappear.

No more 911s.

No more chemical weapons

No more slaughter of men, women, and children.

But alas that is not our world, is it? In this present world, there is slaughter and mass destruction – somewhere every day.

So how will you heed ABBA’s command to ‘fear not’?

Choose to be not our own GOD and surrender to the GOD of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and our Messiah Jesus the Christ.

On this anniversary of such an evil happening when those following after Satan brought death and destruction to our shores; You, ABBA, gave grace and mercy and life even in the midst of it all. We trust You to continue to bring good to Your people in the midst of this present evil. We pray now for the disarming of Syria and her allies. We pray for peace in the Middle East. We pray for peace in America. We pray for peace in the hearts of men, women, and children and we pray for holy soldiers to carry the message of salvation in CHRIST alone to any who will choose to hear.

Seventeen and Prison Cells (again)

IDOK DEVOTION FOR THURSDAY, JANUARY 21, 2010

Seventeen and Prison Cells

Genesis 39:1 Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt.  And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there. [source]

Can we by any stretch of our imaginations visualize how Joseph was feeling standing there on the slave block?  Let us recall that Joseph was about 17 when his brothers ‘gifted’ him with a ticket to Egypt.  Seventeen and previously rich.  Seventeen and the favored son. Seventeen and a former clothes horse, we might say; remember that coat of many colors that ONLY he had.  Seventeen and a dreamer of dreams that he did not keep to himself; which contributed to landing him on the slave block. What emotions do you imagine were coursing through his veins?  Do you think he ever asked God, why?  Do you think he would have understood if God had answered him immediately? Let us step into Joseph’s shoes when we are asking ‘Why, God, why’? As we read Joseph’s story, we can readily see the why God why for Joseph.  And I dare say one day when we look back over our lives, when this present circumstance (story) is told, we too will see why God why.  But for now, let us choose to take comfort and find strength the way Joseph did.Verse 2: The LORD was with Joseph . . .  .   Verse 5: . . . the LORD blessed . . . for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the LORD was on all that he had in the house and in the field. [source]

This GOD who loved/loves Joseph loves YOU (and me) no less than He loved (loves) Joseph.  Will HE do less for YOU (or me) than HE did for Joseph? Not if we will set our minds and our souls to obey Him.  Read more about Joseph.  Read how he obeyed.  Read how ABBA responded to Joseph’s obedience.  We might learn something and we just might garner some motivation to do likewise, even from our own ‘prison cells’.
Remember! Remember the Last Thing our children and grandchildren and we ourselves need is to compromise, neglect and fail to LIVE SCRIPTURE.
Romans 12:19 (New King James Version) 19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. [source]
And tomorrow maybe we will be blessed with another verse to ask ourselves are we obeying this consistently.
ABBA, It’s been a fruitful day, I think and I am grateful.  Thank You.  I pray now that You will use the words on this page to minister to the minds and souls of our IDOKs and Readers.  I pray Your Word will empower us and change us for Your glory and our good.  I pray for a compelling will to love You and live Your Word.   And we pray for friends and family and the many needs of our people listed here; that each one will receive from You what they are hoping and praying for and if that is not Your Will, we expect for them better than they are praying.   We pray for our IDOK Troops, for their safety and protection; for peace of mind too and safe and sound returns home — please, LORD.    And as I put this edition to ‘bed’ I ask You to quiet and give rest to each one on this email list and to any that will stop by the webpage – You know who that will be even now and I pray for them that You will minister to them then and now.  That now, tonight, they will rest and be refreshed and that in the morning when they awaken You will be first on their minds and Your Holy Name, giving You praise will be the first words they utter.  Thank You, ABBA.  We love you too.

Seeing Not, Is Believing! (again)

IDOK DEVOTION FOR TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2010
Seeing Not, Is Believing!
I am thinking as I begin, that I will be brief today.  Hebrews 11:17 . . .for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.
As seeing Him who is invisible.  Hmmm  – invisible – even in the Greek Lexicon, invisible means what you expect – you cannot see it.  The one not seeing but enduring here was Moses as described in Hebrews 11.  You will recall Moses was called to lead the Hebrews out of Egypt.  And he did so.  And he endured much in that holy undertaking: for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.  For a proper understanding let us go again to the Greek Lexicon and let us see that our English word ‘seeing’ as used here in verse 17 in Greek  is — horao, meaning to know; become acquainted with by experience. So Moses, he who could not see God with his physical eyes saw Him as he became acquainted with God – as he experienced God.  It’s the same for us. Faith when exercised gives way to experience, we can SEE the God we cannot See and when we do we too can endure pursuing enemies, dry and hostile terrain, and even the same old – same old day after day after day. Yep! That’s it. Seeing the God we cannot See makes life worth living. Hebrews 11: 1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Thank You, ABBA, for allowing us to SEE You; thank You for allowing us the privilege of experiencing You.  Thank You, Holy Spirit, for taking up residency within.  And I pray we will be more and more yielded to You.    And there are these – many families with various needs; strife and discord that we pray will be forgiven and put aside; sin and rebellious children – rebellious parents too, we pray for repentance and restoration.  And our IDOK Troops, we dare not forget them; praying for their safety and protection and well being in spirit, soul and body.  Thank You so much for the way You have taken care of each one of them and I pray that each one listed here will come home safe and sound at the appointed time.  And I pray for Israel.  You know the love You have given me for Your People and I pray for their peace and safety.  I pray too for America.  Thank You for every Christ Believing American and I pray that we who SEE You will be available to minister so others can SEE You too.  I pray for exposure of corruption and repentance of it in this Nation.  I pray for more and more people to stand against the evil that is being pushed in this Government.  I pray that every elected official from the White House to the tiniest little village in America that does not desire to abide by Your Moral Law will be removed from Office.  I pray You will have mercy on America and that You will raise up an ‘Army’ of Christians that will not be silent, not violent, not cruel, but firm in Your Love and Truth and will be a mighty force to stem the tide of corruption and debauchery that is trying to smother and kill this Nation.  I ask You for mercy and grace and space to repent.   And now before posting this I ask You for rest and peace for our IDOKs and Readers. I pray whatever is troubling each one that she/he will be willing to lay it down and let You be exalted in it.  Thank You for another time to gather together and it is in Your Name LORD Jesus that we pray. Amen and amen.
