It’s Cold Outside!

smiley-hello

It’s 29 degrees and clear here – feels like 22 so says the weather app.
A storm took out our internet last week and today it was restored; giving thanks here! For warmth and this lovely page and a multitude of other grand and happy things! I hope you are too.

Abba, on this cold evening with a new week dawning in just a few hours, we ask for places of warmth for souls feeling chilly winds. For First Responders, for Utility Personnel out there serving, we pray for practical helps, warm clothes, and hot coffee.
Thank You for our kind and efficient Tech who came and speedily restored service today; thank You so much that we got to pray with him; thank You for his dear family and as often as You will bring them to mind that we may pray again.  Thank You that tomorrow is Sunday and we have a house of worship close by where we can gather; I pray houses of worship will be warm tomorrow with prayer and good hot air :) Thank You for loving us so deeply and strong; I pray we love You back and each other too.

Every New Day

Guess what? The word resolution does not appear in the King James Version of Scripture.  Nor the New American Standard. Nor the NIV. Nor the NLT. Not even the Message Bible.

I think we are safe in making no New Year’s Resolutions!

Can I get an Amen?!

Even so. I surely want 2017 to be 365 days better lived; better qualifying for those words: well done good and faithful servant.

I would say 2016 has been my least productive year for blog writing since I began posting here at The White Stone – perhaps the coming year will bring renewed inspiration. We’ll see. We’ll pray.

Prayer. The most excellent way to begin 2017, every day of 2017!

Eastern, Central, Mountain or Pacific – midnight is close. The New Year will ring in. Folks will be wishing special Someones, even Any Ones close at hand: “Happy New Year”!

A fresh canvas.
A fresh page.
A whole new chapter even!
But in a few days if it’s just a resolution we make the pages will turn the same and the canvas will again be marred.

Depressing, isn’t it?

Well then! Let’s just not have it! Let’s just kick those non-Biblical resolutions to the curb and just one day after another, every new day, enjoy who we are right now in JESUS!

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. source

Every New Day you get to be a new You!  Now that will surely make a fine 2017!

Happy New Year Friends!

ABBA, we make a big deal about time here on planet earth; it’s really relevant to us. You even said we are to redeem the time so as that minute hand sweeps the faces of our clocks and 2017 dawns help us lift our faces to Your Face searching Your eyes, Your very countenance for the strength and encouragement to  accept the we(s) we are until You shape us into the we(s) You know we can be in Your holy and only Son Jesus.  This I pray for myself and for every dear One who finds this page today and every tomorrow. Amen and amen.
