Perhaps you have heard it said as a Christian we do not stand still in our communion with the Christ.
We have been told we are either inching (some sprinting, some a steady jog) forward in our knowledge of and intimacy with Him or we are regressing and our intimacy is declining. It would be to our advantage (and to the advantage of those we love) to evaluate ourselves regularly to be certain we are staying spiritually healthy.
Now, this afternoon I read 2 Timothy 3: 13 and I am paused right there to share.
As Christians do not stand still, I think neither does the un-Christian.
2 Timothy 3: 13 But evil men and imposters will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.source
See? From bad to worse.
Those not yet in covenant with JESUS do not stand still in their disrespect of Him or their rebellion against Him. And it seems to me the longer folks say no thank You to JESUS, the more deceived they become. It seems to me that should move me to act on their behalf.
On to verse fourteen (14) . . . for another post, maybe.
Well, now that I have upgraded this site, perhaps I’ll show up more. :) However, now that I have whiled away the morning, it’s time to prepare lunch. Who has time to write now?! Even with just this announcement, I cannot leave you with only these few words. How about a picture? Are not they worth more than a thousand words? :)
Earlier today I posted the following to my Facebook feed; perhaps exposure here will land on a couple more screens. :)
Today. August 1. Often I look at this world and the people in it beginning with family and friends and I feel overwhelmed. Overwhelmed with the needs, the loss, the lack, the too much, the illness, the disease, death, and life, too often just utter chaos swirling around many. And I would despair was it not for our GOD.
PSALM 27:13 I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. 14 Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. source
And so I pray. What can I do for my world of people? How can I encourage them? How can I help them love You first? How can I help them yield to You? How can I help them live holy? How can I help them embrace their potential in this world and Your Eternity?
And then I know the first step is to yield myself in all these things.
One of the best words I can give you today comes from Deuteronomy 20. I’ll give you a link. Deuteronomy 20:3, 4.
. . . Do not be afraid, or panic, or tremble [in terror] . . .
for the LORD your God is He who goes with you . . .
Goes with you to class, to work, to confront, to comfort, to the memorial service, to the store for groceries, or clothes, or shoes. He goes with you. Today!
We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
