Little Ones

Little Girl of the GRANDS sang (not solo) at church tonight and we were privileged to be there and I was just blessed all over!

I sat there thinking how absolutely wonderful it is to hear pre-schoolers singing praises and quoting Scripture. Scripture tells us faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. (Romans 10:17) Albeit a pre-schooler most likely has not reached a level of maturity to make that eternal decision to follow hard after JESUS but singing those songs and memorizing Scripture gives them an immeasurably valuable foundation whereby they can make that decision when they are older.

What did JESUS say?

Matthew 19: (New King James Version) 14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” via Matthew 19:14 – Passage Lookup – New King James Version – BibleGateway.com.

More often than I like, and my preface, of course, is not at all, I have heard foolish, foolish words spoken by adults thinking themselves to be progressive, saying they did not want to influence their children about ‘religion’ but wanted them to be free to make up their own minds about God.

2 Corinthians 4: (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
4 Regarding them: the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ,  who is the image of God.
via 2 cor 4:4 – Passage Lookup – Holman Christian Standard Bible – BibleGateway.com.

To be sure the children will make up their own minds! How tragic it is though when they don’t have the right information to make that eternal decision!

I’d like to tell parents, you might not want to influence your children about God but a host of perverted beings not only wants to, but will!  Please heed the Scriptures for yourselves and your children — their eternity and yours depends on it!

We cannot begin too soon telling the children (even pre-born in the womb) that JESUS loves them; that He is the only begotten Son of God and He wants them to live a good life here on planet earth and then come to live with Him forever in Heaven. Teaching them to sing songs and quote Scripture like I heard tonight is an EXCELLENT way to give them information that will quietly stay with them guiding them to the TRUTH for themselves.

ABBA, thank You, thank You for what I saw and heard tonight at First Baptist of North Mobile. For the singing and quoting done by the children and the expounding of Your Word by Bro. Billy Graham.  I praise You LORD for allowing me the privilege of hearing and worshiping You.  Thank You, DADDY GOD.  Thank You.

Friends, please remember to pray for our Praying For These. In particular the family of Autry King as her memorial service is today (Monday) at 10:00. Continued prayer for Wayne, Cindy, Elaine, Bridgett and family, Jenny, DeLois, Iris P., Melinda, Kerri F., and our IDOK Troops is appreciated.

So That’s Humility!

Where has this day gone?

Actually I know, I’ve enjoyed it away while I left plenty undone.

Dishes in the sink.

Potato salad waiting to be made.

And I will not go on with that list — not going to tell ALL my secrets. :)

But I did get a new ministry card designed and sent to the printers — hoping to pick up in the morning before the E-Women Conference.  YEAH!

And as I am now getting back here from a few hours ago, potato salad got scratched and all was well with that.

Now where was I going with our Friday time together????

This is humility!

Philippians 4: (New American Standard Bible)
9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
via Phil 4:9 – Passage Lookup – New American Standard Bible – BibleGateway.com.

What things had they seen Paul practice? What things had they learned from him? What things had they heard him speak? What things had they received — what things had taken root in their hearts, guaranteeing them the manifest Presence of God?

Philippians 4:(New American Standard Bible)
5 Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near.
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
via Phil 4:5-8 – Passage Lookup – New American Standard Bible – BibleGateway.com.

Humility — an objective, honest evaluation of one’s own thoughts and conduct wherein one could say, ‘do what I do and you will see GOD in you’ and it would be so!  WOW!

A worthy goal — an attainable goal? What do you think?

I have not had the pleasure of meeting Iris Prosch but we have been asked to pray for her. She has a massive tumor on her brain and doctors have only been able to remove 80% of it.  Prognosis is not favorable.

And please pray for the family of Autrey King. She went home to JESUS this morning. A saint if ever there was one! She will be so missed here but Heaven is rejoicing!

And DeLois McCrary – broke her leg Wednesday night. Precious lady – 87 years young.  Your prayers would be so appreciated.

And Melinda H. doctors are still testing — many problems, treatments available but much discomfort and wearisome. Comfort and strength would be so appreciated.

And as you will, intercede for the women that will be attending and sharing at the E Women Conference in Pensacola on Friday and Saturday. We need some women to come home from that conference more in love with JESUS and people than ever before — and stay that way.

Thank you, dear Friends,
Kathie

News

This is what I have heard this morning:

Government shut down if Democrats and Republicans do not get together on cutting government spending.
Projection of $6.00 a gallon for gasoline
Projection of Skyrocketing food prices — even shortages
Green – Green – Green — we have to go green — CO2 is causing global warming
CO2 is carbon dioxide causes plants to grow which cools the earth and feeds the population
We have enough oil and gas to supply with ease — but we can’t drill — politics

Who do we believe?  And what do we do?

2 Chronicles 7: (21st Century King James Version)

13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land or if I send pestilence among My people,

14 if My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

15 Now Mine eyes shall be open and Mine ears attentive unto the prayer that is made in this place.

Pray. Pray. Pray.  And see to it that you (and me) are not caught up in the insatiable greed and lust for power that is fueling this unrest and instability in our world.

Par down. Slim down. Give more. Save up. Look up.

Malachi 3: (21st Century King James Version)
8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed Me! But ye say, `Wherein have we robbed Thee?’ In tithes and offerings.
9 Ye are cursed with a curse; for ye have robbed Me, even this whole nation.
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in Mine house, and put Me to the proof now herewith,” saith the LORD of hosts, “if I will not open to you the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground, neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field,” saith the LORD of hosts.
12 “And all nations shall call you blessed, for ye shall be a delightsome land,” saith the LORD of hosts.
