Day 25 — Subtitled: Repentance
I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. via 1 John 1 KJ21 – That which was from the beginning which – Bible Gateway.
A gift for which I am most thankful in the wee hours of the morning or any time it is received. It is a gift often left unopened. Un-received.
I think I know why it takes so long to receive this gift. It is wrapped in ‘papers’ of humility and pride has to bow to peel those wrappings back. Pride does not like to bow. Pride struggles long and hard before it utters those hated words: ‘I was wrong. I have sinned. Please forgive me. ‘
Funny thing about it though, once they are uttered they are not so ugly anymore, they quickly turn from foul-tasting to sweet and freeing.
Repentance.
A beautiful gift and it’s not even Christmas yet. 🙂
Yeah, I ate too much carrot cake yesterday. 🙂
Hope you all had much thanksgiving yesterday and no I’m not Black Friday-ing today. But to those of you who are — you are brave and I wish you peace and safety and gift-buying success. Perhaps you will not even need to open the gift of repentance when you get home. 🙂
